What would you recommend then if i may ask?
Looks nice, NKRO, and is around the rm300 border.

Thanks.
*
BW can use for o2jam as well, but need test out the 7 keys combination, at least zxc keys fails.

Considering for current mechanical keyboard availability, RM300 mechanical keyboard for o2jam should be 6Gv2.
Maybe wait for other brand which may come into Malaysia very soon like Filco and Leopold. (not sure how true is the rumor, what i heard is they are coming soon)

Noppoo Choc mini really a superb keyboard.

In geekhack review, they said cant find any con for it, but for me, I more comfortable with the separated Numeric Pad, much more convenient at some moment. I would say the best thing of it other than the wicked price will be the size, neat your desk all the way.

Not really, you will feel different when using them.
Your thought just because of the click sound.

i just updated my noppoo review.
added:

Price: 11/10
Noise: 10/10
Quality: 10/10 !!!!! ( might change later, after i figure out the inside )
Feel when typing: 10/10
Overall: 10/10
The Look: 8.5/10 (not for everyone, but could be better)

Pros of noppoo choc mini:

  • NKRO over USB

  • their lasered method on the cap

  • plate mounted.

  • solid.

  • POM cap

  • their CAP profile, make a lot of difference when typing on the cherry mx.

  • Good price.

  • Not too bright LED

  • Very very long USB cable.

  • Compact layout

Cons

  • Overall build can be more solid.

  • the leveling feet need to be more solid, is SNAP ON type. but a bit loose. Tighter will be more solid example by Undarken. but it totally works fine, Don't have to worry about it.

  • Don't support MAC OS Reported here by polpo

  • built in a Detachable USB will be NICE.

  • Snap on type instead of screw? i personally like this but will be nice if it can be more secure.

  • Lasered on the cap are a little bit uneven. my little is unnoticeable

*
yup, the tilt a bit loose, quite clear shown in the video.

Compact layout good to save space, but not that comfortable for biggish hand (just my opinion)

The key caps printing is quite dim, made it look like blank caps.

I'm using cherry mx brown right now.

Anything harder i will definitely not like. In fact more lighter without tactile would be even better for me :}

Cherry mx red ??  hmm.gif
*
yeah, linear non-clicky still my favourite, so must grab 1 cherry MX red keyboard if any available in Malaysia. Currently still prefer my 7G compare to BW.

When gaming always bottom it.

But when typing especially short message like posting here, almost can type it at total silence without the next fellow notice the I am typing (except spacebar)

They're currently being mass manufactured in China.

Currently, The tenkeyless version are being manufactured in Taiwan, and the full version keyboard(included with Cherry MX Red Key) are manufactured in China.

From what i heard, Leopold Keyboard quality check are very strict, as i check for more information, i found out that the Leopold Keyboard Tenkeyless version that i`m using right now, The keycaps are basically manufactured by Datacomp which is the same manufacturer as SteelSeries 7G and 6Gv2.

Thou i can't confirm that the factory that they produce the keycaps are the same factory, what i`m really surprise with the keycap quality difference between Leopold Keyboard tenkeyless and Steelseries 6Gv2. (which they are being manufactured by DataComp this recently)

The person that incharge in meeting me and have a discussion with me has traveled to China, to have quality check on those keyboard.

So as soon as stocks arrive, i'll be posting more informations and pictures. And also with the possibility that i could bring some keyboard stocks in Malaysia so you guys can purchase them.  rclxms.gif
*
I agree that SS key caps are much thinner than the leopold 1 but don't really agree that thickness indicate the quality. They are thin but quality still quite okay. (just not so bad)
I said that because I did compared the SS and Noppoo key caps, never test for the thickness but we can even can see something very clearly with eye. The cutting edge of SS keycaps are much smoother than the Noppoo 1.

how much thefull version MX red will be?? Any estimate pricing?

atleast a certain thickness will indicates they are not trying to cut cost or reduce anything that have effects over the keyboard's overall quality, that's how i sees a product. At least they are very picky on quality even as little as keycap's thickness, So.. in my view, their pickiness is good  tongue.gif

from what i heard, the full version of Leopold Keyboard will be a little slightly expensive than the Leopold Tenkeyless, which will still be under RM400, but i still can't confirm the price.
But as he said The keyboard will only slightly expensive than the tenkeyless version because the full size keyboard are being manufactured at China which will have less labour cost compared to Taiwan.

And Keycaps molding will have a minor different between Tenkeyless(made in Taiwan) and Full size(made in China).
The differences would be the Top side of the keycap.
If you noticed, Tenkeyless Leopold Keyboard, the top side of the Keycap have a minor Cut Mark, because of the molding technique that the Taiwan manufacturer use.
user posted image
But for the fullsize Leopold Keyboard, The keycap will be made by a different molding technique, the cut mark will be on the under edge of keycaps, so you won't be able to notice it easily as the tenkeyless version.
*
Then 10keyless is how much then?? Roughly how much different?

tenkeyless, if i remembered last time they did mention RM335, but i think would be at this price or slightly cheaper.

Thou i can't confirm, i personally hope tenkeyless would be around RM300~330, and full keyboard to be around RM340~380. i can only say it won't be above RM400.
But currently can't get the exact pricing as they still didn't announce the price tag for fullsize keyboard. Because the keyboard is still in production.

Today i've received a e-mail which they inform me the keyboard production are being successful. So it's a matter of time that i will receive a sample as well as receive more information as well as pricing information.
*
If less than RM400 then is nice. Do you think it bundled with any wrist rest??

so was wondering about it...
of course i am considering the tenkeyless thus the question...
*
10keyless mainly for space saving purpose.

If you have more than enough space and use numpad quite frequently then no point to get 10keyless keyboard.

Guys, PCHome is getting Cherry MY switch soon. Cherry MY switch is 半機械式鍵盤(semi mechanical with combination of membrane). The price seems to be lots cheaper than normal or proper mechanical kb.
http://global.pchome.com.tw/?mod=item&func...1&ROWNO=14&tm=u

And here is the brown version of Raptor Gaming K-1. They seems like stressing on ''N-KEY-ROLLOVER'' but the kb itself come in USB? 界面(interface):USB, so it means NKRO under USB? I highly doubt so as Raptor Gaming K-1 also didn't able to it(3 years ago though). hmm.gif

Cherry MY is no longer mechanical keyboard, maybe we need another new MY switches keyboard thread ^^

for Keycaps, you don't really need to worry as long as the keycaps are designed for Cherry MX switches. there's no difference in size and shape.

The only thing that you will be worry for fitting would be the larger keycaps such as space, enter, shift. because some tends to use different stabilizer. and might not fit the keyboard.
*
If changing for whole set then won't be any problem there, but some problem might occur, if the key caps profile are very different from the original 1.

G15 feels so mushy and stiff compared to the cherry mx brown.

I could immediately tell the difference, and appreciate the Cherry much more.
When i type now, the keys are actuated much smoother and i don't need to second guess if the key was actuated or not.

My typing got better as a result :}
I use my keyboard using PS2 to get NKRO. I don't feel limited at all like this.

Using the USB was fine, but i just leave it as PS2. Even after i remove the plug and put it back in, the keyboard still works. I think for PS2 it need only be plugged in when booting up, after that you can remove and put back the plug and it will still work without having to reboot the pc.
Both the G15 and the Ducky can disable the windows keys. But i like the Duckys method, press FN+F9; whereas the G15 had a stiff rubbery switch you toggle.

The ducky is also neat that i can flick between music tracks, pause/play, or mute. Works for my Foobar :}
*
Didi you tried any MX red before?? Wondering how brown and red be differentiated. Most probably wanna get a Leopold MX red.

But anyway, Some people may find Cherry MX blue switch are much more comfortable to type if compared with Cherry MX Black Despite the sound  tongue.gif .

Anyway, For RTS games, i don't think BlackWidow is gonna be causing any kind of problem at all.

I got my BlackWidow straight from Razer. I'm a DotA editor at GosuGamers so its important that my keyboard feels good when I typing. Compared to the SteelSeries 7G, the BlackWidow is a better board when it comes to typing. Love the clicky sounds.

Also noticed i perform better in my game with the new keyboard. lol.
*
For typing, MX blue should be better choice, but I still prefer linear non-clicky switches, just waiting the Leopold bring in their red switches.

however, MX blue can improve your gaming experience? The click should has longer refresh time after every actuation.

@BlueBerry~

I'm not surprised. Blacks are harder than blues after all doh.gif

But still i think the 2KRO may be too limiting for gaming.
Is your bw the ultimate edition with the fancy led ? or the budget model without the lighting ?
I can tell you though, the reason why some people can live without the led lighted keyboards, is because of these beautiful vintage cherry double shot key caps. The text contrast is so good, and they never wear out.

My lamp desk suffices for lighting. Besides it's not good to leave your room totally dark as you can hurt your eyes :/
I made an extensive review of my Ducky dk-9008 with double shots here

http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:14092
Just updated it with pictures  wub.gif
*
I think they explained about this before, they stated BW as a 2KRO keyboard just because of the ZXC failure but most of other up to 6 keys combination are working well because of the optimization effect, so probably not really notice the limitation of 2KRO unless playing SDO or O2jam.

Even though are totally dark, if you are touch typist then shouldn't be any problem to type without any fancy backlit. Some more there is a very bright LCD light.

*
don't think so, you should feel the actuation force not exactly evenly through out whole keyboard.

Unless you only using 2 finger too type, otherwise each of your finger having different strength, let say should feel button A is harder since you press it by using pinky compared to button F or G.

*
The problem should be either the switch itself or the spring. (I think is the spring)

If so seems like BWE will be a safer choice than BWU as almost all BWE i tested feel and sound uniform but only 1 out of 5 BWU sound and feel uniform(not even mention about 104 more keys that cant be tested...) wink.gif
*
ignoring the click sound, BWE still always safer option then BWU. The LED light consuming large amount of power form the USB port, it become very heavy duty to the keyboard cheaps and also the interface. Thats also the reason, why Lycosa got much more complaint than Arctosa.
