I study EE engineering for degree. Moreover my good friend's final year project is to monitor Li-on hence I've read up on its voltage and current properties including n-curve yada yada...

I don't feel that it hogs because I close the app after I finish chatting. Only whatsapp is for 24/7 messaging.

Not very long ago I mentioned about Aptoide as Installous equivalent for Android but it was not user friendly and it lags.

Then I tried Apktor and Appack. Appack was terrible but Apktor was the star of all these similar app.

Yes, like all other Android device you still need Market Enabler or Market Access for Malaysia SIM cards.

The lag is there but does not cripple the phone into junk.

Theoratically should be in that range. Under load, the battery may intermittently measure less. Then once the battery is not loaded, the voltage recovers to near 3.7V.

Voodoo JM9 experience: The phone does go into sleep but no matter what, Voodoo drains more power than OCLF or original kernel. I am left with only 60% power by now. Usually I have 80% with casual use.

Voodoo JM9. Yesterday I am left with only 59% at midnight. After I charge again, the battery recalibrates and I have got 90% left. Looks like it doesn't suck much power after all.

No APN also can get the alert but will only show Downloading...

Samsung can verify the warranty with serial number. Sending in warranty card is not essential. You can even lose the warranty card and box and walk into Samsung.

IMEI can be wiped is EFS partition is wiped intentionally using Odin or if the firmware has a copy of EFS. Keep your EFS folder safe by copying it to your computer using Root Explorer or Terminal.

Today is the 3rd day I'm using it.

Like you guys say, I must have got a battery from secret test lab. It shows even better percentage after I calibrate.

I have problems with stock music player since I got the phone. It randomly has got problem with specific album such as garbled song tags and corrupted album art.

Now I'm dealing with an album art, it would show as a corrupt photo although I already totally removed the folder.jpg. Pissed off.

Edit: Album art issue resolved. Conflict with embedded album art. Works fine after removing embedded art.

Android phone is not supposed to use the 'apps' in KIES.

Last time i have htc diamond that cost 2400. It lags. It has bugs. But i was happy because before that i was using dopod 838 pro which cost 3000 which is almost unusable.

SGS is so far the cheapest phone that i had being very satisfying.

Things would be different if you have seen from different perspective. Those people complaining in XDA about lag must have never used a PDA or they have only seen iphone. Daily restart and pushing reset button on the back of he phone was a norm. For SGS i don't even know if there is one hard reset button or not

No. Unless you think you will be installing plenty of apps from unknown sources (especially cracked apps)

Sometimes we don't even know whether the anti-virus is real or hoax. It could be the first virus in your phone.

If you screw up the firmware without having a 3-button recovery, they will change board. The service center does not use JTAG to reflash a dead phone.

Hence better fix the recovery before you modify anything.
