QUOTE(Harddisk @ Nov 1 2010, 03:32 PM)
Actually, like the default camera will do. I don't play much with effects. Just that I needed to snap something the most when my battery falls onto 15% or less, which is crappy as I can't run the camera.

If only someone know how to override the battery check for the camera software.

I think none so far.

Eek. You're using Australia timezone in system time is it?

I using Malaysia time primarily but the UK time just don't get DST automatically.

Quick question as I was thinking to get sgs smile.gif

1. is 8gb enough? I mostly wanted to play games and install those useful/weird/funny apps

2. Since we root/lagfix/flash, is there any difference to get AP or ORI?Hardware wise I mean.
In terms of warranty, I heard samsung warranty/service is not that good either.
*
8GB or 16GB has the same 2GB data partition. The number of games to be installed should be similar. However try to get the 16GB if possible. The 8GB version has lesser resale value in Malaysia.

To determine which warranty is best for you:
1. Do you think you will know what you'll be doing to the phone and its method to restore the phone when it bricks?
2. Do you want to play safe or possibly take more hassle?

Samsung service center is not bad actually. smile.gif

id like to flash to JG4 .. 1 question, do i need to check re-partition? i read some say check but some say uncheck :-s
*
The DXJG4 firmware has 513 PIT file. You can put that in and repartition.

When you don't select repartition from Odin, the phone will use existing PIT file in the previous firmware to repartition.

*
10 secs to close an app is exaggeration. Those lags are like 1-2 second at most.

is it possible SGS battery get overcharged if the Adapter cable connected 24/7? cuz i read somewhere it automatically disconnect once its fully charge?? how does it work?
*
Even from Nokia 3310 era, phone battery no longer overcharge.

QUOTE(silentser @ Nov 3 2010, 05:22 PM)
i also read that it will auto disconnect, anyway what does it mean by overcharge? i tot our battery dont have built in memory? that why with all this delete batterystat thingy.
*
Batterystats is binary file that keeps battery calibration data in Android system. With batterystats, the phone would be able to report the battery's remaining charge in kinda accurate manner, although never perfect as battery characteristics gradually change with time. It's not a file in the battery.

overcharging like leaving it charge overnight ...i heard other batteris will be damage when its overcharging but not our ones?? hmm.gif
anyone can confirm this?
*
It is not SGS specific feature. Handling Li-on must be done properly. No manufacturer can produce an equipment that overcharge Li-on. Unlike Ni-mh, it's not just about damaging the battery, Li-on can be very hazardous when mistreated.

when click that, the drop down menu:
0: auto
1: internal memory
2: SD card

i checked auto, then go to custom and click 'set to this value' ie 50212, then back to menu and click on market

still turn out.. nothing that i can see the paid apps :-(
*
Lol.. You know the ID of 50212 is Maxis? So when you apply that, you're merely just setting the same ID, of which wouldn't get paid apps to show. You need ID of other operator, for example T-mobile.

Mine have to be manually activated. Stock firmware DXJG4. I assume your device is functioning as designed.
