Help! my 4820TG's CPU was running at 97 celcius and im in a ac room with a cooler!
my keyboard get very hot and i suspect that the fan have some problem, any pros can tell me whats happening?
btw i jus playing game around 1+ hour only!
wherever i play game, it gets heated very fast! 97 was the max i saw and i was shocked! can fry egg d
Mobo temp oso around 95 celcius at that time!

personally, i m quite satisfy with my notebook. i read every post in this thread, so far, there are no hinge problem, however, there are guys with:

1. a key pop out! fixed
2. can't boot up! no news from owner
3. a line of dead pixel.

From what I read, this TimelineX series has better build quality than other Acer. Merry Christmas!

cse i heard tat they might add sandy bridge procs in their acer laptop soon...

use GPU-z to monitor the fan speed.

ps: ops... just realized 4820TG does not have GPU fan. in that case, try speedfan or hmonitor.

I am quite satisfy of my 3820 also. I am not sure for the 4820 bcz as i know the differences for the mechanism between 3820 and 4820 is 3820 wif twin fans and 4820 wif single fan. I might have a different between the heat management. Need to get more output from the 4820 user here.

im using speedfan, but i cant see the info of my fan speed? it doesnt show anything about my fan at all, voltages wont show too, just temperature of cores only.

do it ur self.. if u dun1 void warranty go to the shop u bought.. easy 2 install it.. as long u got screw driver suitable for it!

i'm not sure.. but it sure void warranty since is diy.. u better upgrade and ask the shop u bought.. i knew 4820tg come with 1 yr international warranty.. as other model come with local warranty.. i got ask acer shop that if upgrade ram by them the warranty still valid.. this is new model no doubt u still under warranty..

no need wait next year.. no different.. it still 2010 products.. grab where u really needed.. if u wait.. maybe 5820 come out with better spec and price maybe different story liau..

FYI, China oledi launched the new 4820 wif spec I5-480 and ATI Radeon 6550M 1GB. I am not sure it will launch in malaysia or not after CNY.

sandy bridge is not that great if you have a dedicated GPU like 5650. i did a comparison between the preview sandy bridge graphic performance with my 5650; the 5650 double the performance of a sandy bridge. check it out here

if you play game, i dont recommend without dedicated GPU...

anyone here...use acer face logon ?

i dont have this in my notebook! but my colleague whom own a U35 has face recognizing logon. however, the default setting allow you to logon with just a photo u have to change the setting to "Secured" or something to prevent this...

- spent 7 hours playing Dawn of War 2 (Chaos Rising) in 1 non-stop session
- completed the game
- With HWMonitor running in the background - Max CPU:87, Max GPU:79 (without cooler)
- I am now an "Angel of Death" status in the game
