Doing it RIGHT NOW!
Added on May 8, 2011, 2:59 amThings not looking too good.. my previous max was 774/1113... so, with additional 0.05 volt, i jump to 800/1113 directly, run 3dmark06, until the Canyon part... whole notebook freeze! Not looking too good.... look like gonna have to spend more time benchmarking and finding stable clock... This post has been edited by cowithgun: May 8 2011, 02:59 AM |

I m feeling good because I think I brought something worthy. And if it's something worthy, best share with friends...
![]() First off, I am not an audiophile! However I do prefer some clarity when it comes to music and sound. It also must be small and light enough for all my travel's need. With some recommendation from http://forum.lowyat.net/Audiophiles I decided to give the Hippo Shroom EB a test. Thanks to friendly people at Jaben, I tested a couple other's IEM at around that same price, in the end, still decided to go with Hippo Shroom EB. Most of them focus a lot on Bass, and ya, it sound nice too, but my ear will not lie to me. I still prefer to be able to hear those small little effects such as rain drops, small echo in a tiny room, sound of insects in the background... wonderful... i think that's what they call clarity? I am not qualify to give any 'review' about ear-phone. Google "Hippo Shroom EB" for more info. Moreover, need to let the ear phone burn-in for 50 hours before I can really comment on it's sound quality. |

So, after some dare devil experiments, finally I managed to overvolt my 3820tg's 5650 to 1.05volt. Thought I can push the OC higher than 774/1113 when I give the chip a little more juice. 6550 with that extra 0.05volt can OC beyond that. But it didnt work.
So, if you are planning to overvolt your 5650 with intention to OC better, you could be disappointed. Stop reading now, go do something else! Note that both these tutorials will not work in 3820tg. It allows you to undervolt it but any volt above 1.0v will make ATI crash during boot up. - http://acer.it168.com/thread-1271947-1-1.html - http://acer.it168.com/thread-1315933-1-1.html To make it work for 3820tg, follow the same procedure as in the first URL above: 1. Use phoenixtool164, open the 3820tg BIOS - Winflash64\JM31119.exe 2. In the SLIC file, point to ACPI05.ROM found in the DUMP folder 3. Use RW-Everything, dump the ACPI table (Access->ACPI Table) 4. In PhoenixTool's "RW File", point to that ACPI dump. 5. In PhoenixTool's Advance menu, tick on the "Allow user to modify other module" Things are different from the tutorial from now onwards: 6. Click Done and click "go". PhoenixTool will process it and stop with a message "You can now make alteration to any module in the DUMP...". DONT CLICK OK YET. 7. Inside the DUMP folder, swap the file name of OPROM01.ROM and OPROM02.ROM 8. Hex edit OPROM01.ROM, search for hex "02 10 c1 68 00 00 18 00 00 00 00 03 78". Change it to "02 10 c1 68 00 00 18 00 00 00 00 03 77" 9. Hex edit OPROM02.ROM, search for hex "02 10 c1 68 00 00 18 00 00 00 00 03 77". Change it to "02 10 c1 68 00 00 18 00 00 00 00 03 78" 10. Back to PheonixTool, click OK to generate JM31119_SLIC.exe 11. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CRISIS USB to recover your BIOS before you continue. 12. Run the JM31119_SLIC.exe to flash your BIOS. 13. Reboot into Discrete Mode to enjoy your 0.05volt... Fortunately, I have already generated the modded bios, so, if you dont wanna go thru those troubles, just use this: http://www.mediafire.com/?vh5r1lmjzhll3mr Greetz to kizwan and lee_what2004 This post has been edited by cowithgun: May 9 2011, 02:00 AM |

You can skip this part because it's redundant:-
2. In the SLIC file, point to ACPI05.ROM found in the DUMP folder 3. Use RW-Everything, dump the ACPI table (Access->ACPI Table) 4. In PhoenixTool's "RW File", point to that ACPI dump. Just tick "No SLIC" in the Advanced options window. "No SLIC" just means you don't want to alter the existing SLIC in the BIOS. The existing SLIC will be intact. |

QUOTE(ngkhanmein @ May 9 2011, 09:45 AM) Retail price: RM190, got a free gift from Jaben. @tellmewhy: sorry to say this, but, second hand notebook usually worth very little, moreover, your 4820t is only with 5470... not very attractive for demanding buyer... u probably have better luck with someone who want a notebook cheap... but working... |
