50% ram is normal, Win 7 will try to cache and use the ram as much as possible...
Mine currently is 45%, and that's only with 51 processes...

Another one is, go to Google Chrome, open the options, "under the hood", untick the automatically send usage statistics..

what processes did you close?
did you uninstall them as well?
or just close whenever you start your laptop?

I'm not using 4820TG if you want the specific list of uninstalled program for it...
Basically I uninstall what I can uninstall and disable the rest..
No need to close anything when I start the laptop..

99c is high... i recommend you use a laptop cooler in this case. although the CPU can handle up to 105, it might not be a good idea to let it continue in 90'es for a long time...

if you are using a cooler and it still hit 90'es, i recommend that you re-apply thermal parse on your CPU, a lot of people get very good result doing that, some even up to 10C lower...

i dont have Black-ops yet... but so far, no game make my CPU go more than 89C... i m not using cooler...

Seems like for card reader, best if just disabled it from startup...
If later got error with card reader, then enable it again...

Opening notebook is a very delegate thing, you need to do it carefully. You dont want your beautiful notebook has scratch here and there... blush.gif

Look at this PDF first, it's a step by step photo on how to change processor for 3820tg.

About applying thermal parse, I recommend take a look at what Bronsky has done with his 3820tg using IC Diamond 7... still a bit hard to believe.. his CPU idle tem is 21C... sweat.gif

if change/upgrade hd, will it void the warranty?
*
i oso quite confused on this matter as sm1 mentioned on previous post dat it will not void if upgrade ram/hdd. i did asked d retailer wer i bought my lil brader machine & was told dat it will only void d ram & hdd warranty. however, i took d liberty to call acer highpoint today to clarify on this & was informed dat it will void d warranty 4 d whole machine rclxub.gif dang! i've upgraded my lil brader 3820tg to 8gb ram & 500gb momentus XT doh.gif .
did sm1 here actually hv a machine wt upgraded ram/hdd sent for RMA & acer highpoint didnt void d warranty?

i added 2GB ram to my laptop and sent it for keyboard warranty claim at high point (lowyat plaza). i asked the person servicing my laptop if i'm still eligible for warranty claim, since i upgraded my ram, and he said no problem.

so there, for those of you still afraid to upgrade your ram (because of the acer sticker at the back) - do it.
