Wow, so you are going to be boss soon? Under IT related heads I presumed? rclxms.gif

My limited knowledge suggest that if it is sucking air, it should be no problem. Heck, even blowing air in should not spoil the fan.... i think hope u can share with us how well the cooler work! thanks in advance.

I've done a lot of reading before i brought my TimelineX. I come to the conclusion that the TimelineX series is generally more reliable and better build quality compare to most other series in Acer.

From feedback in this thread, there is not much problems reported so far.

I put 2 thumbs up for 3820tg and 4820tg. thumbup.gif

(I dont work for Acer, and I still hate Acer Malaysia for bring 3820tg so late to Malaysia)

But is it ok to charge it all night long?
WOnt it spoil the battery?
How about for the first time?
Need to charge it first or charge and straight away install?

It's already 2am.
I dont think I have time to set-up and charge.
Haih. I guess I just have to sit and wait tmw.

Oh no no. Im not a boss or what.
It's for my friend.

Charge overnight won't spoil the battery la...

Setup as in first time turning on the laptop? That would only take a few minutes I think?

Is it better if I charge it now over night and tomorrow morning I do the set-up and back up or better to do those aforementioned things first and then charge till it's full or overnight?

How long does it take to back -up btw?

Many thanks

Grrr... finally... a worthy successor for TimelineX... improvement that make me tingling:

1. Sandy bridge dual-core!
- I still think quad-core eats battery and generate more heat (I hope I am wrong tongue.gif)
2. USB 3.0
3. New keyboard!
4. HD6650... this is the real successor for 5650... welcome Whistler...

Damn. It will only available on April 2011? I hope it wont take 9 months to bring this model to Malaysia (like what happened to 3820tg)... if so, Malaysia will only have 3830tg by 2012? rclxub.gif Will it be too much if I request for Acer Malaysia to bring not only the lowest end model to Malaysia, something like this would be nice:

- 3830tg with i7-2620M CPU & HD6650

Not sure if it'll make much difference, but if Acer Malaysia bring this model in for April, they already secured 1 sale (i m buying for sure). icon_rolleyes.gif

the new quads are much cooler than the older ones... at least battery life is longer as well.. an example could be seen from 5750G, with Intel HD can last 4-5 hours..

BUt for the first time, we don't need to charge it?
Straight away plug the charger to the wall and start the laptop as instructed in the acer leaflet?

Agree. But that is only true in idle and low load. Which is not bad at all.

However, during heavy load, the quad-core SB draw up to 71.1W when running 3dmark... compare to 50W in 3820tg (both reviews from Notebookcheck.net)... With quad-core and nVidia 540M, i suspect gaming with battery is probably too much to ask for 45Whr battery in 5750G...

The interesting part should be how is the quad-core SB compare to dual-core SB in power and heat. If the differences in power consumption and heat is really little, i ll go for quad-core SB! icon_rolleyes.gif But, i think life is not that good for me.

I read somewhere that we have to charge 18hours for the first charge.
Pretty crazy. But a lot of people did agree with that person.
Does anyone here do that?
