Don't think Turbo boost is that useful anyways unless someone can enlighten me about it... according to benchmark, i3-380m is around the same as i5-450m ><... makes me wanna sell my A42Jv and get 3820TG lol... |

QUOTE(tech_frix @ Jan 12 2011, 12:58 AM) my gaming list with my 4820TG... NICE! If I want a action pack game with minimal puzzle solving, should I play Shattered Dimension or Web of Shadows? Darksiders Spiderman Shattered Dimension Black Ops Spiderman Web of Shadows TES:IV Mass Effect 1 Added on January 12, 2011, 9:12 pm QUOTE(johnchew91 @ Jan 12 2011, 10:10 AM) i5 480 vs i3 380 got much differences??in performance?? i'll be more worry about the tJunction in i3 more than anything else. the max temp for i3 380M is 90C (i5 is 105C) before throttling. it should be enough for most use... the only different is the turbo boost capable in i5 480 rite?? my max temp is 89C so far after 6 hours of gaming without cooler... so, not sure if i3 really suitable for extended period of heavy gaming... anyway, u can still use a cooler. should be able to reduce up to 5C... Added on January 13, 2011, 1:04 pmFor those who cant afford to read through all the new products from CES 2011, here is a short summary about notebook related products. There is still no subnotebook that is powerful enough to play all recent game like in 3820tg... If the summary is too short for you, I reckon going to: http://www.engadget.com/ http://ces.cnet.com/ http://www.zdnet.com/ces now that oughta take a few hours of your life! Don't think so. Anyway, wanna share a super scary story involving my 7-month old 4820TG. I was downloading some files using my sister's wifi which is 1 house away from my house. In order to get the signal, I have to put my laptop on an ironing board placed right in front of the window in my room. Then, I have to open the lid about 175 degree and put the laptop in standing mode with its lcd leaning on the window. I hope you get to imagine this. lol
Then, I plugged in the charger to the laptop and when I tried to plug the other end to the wall socket, the cable went a bit short so I have to pull it a little to make it connect. That's stupid, yes. So, the laptop tipped over and fell down to the floor. I was shocked. I could hear my own heartbeat pumping heavily. I just simply stare at my lappy for a good few seconds before deciding to check the damage. Luckily, the screen is fine, and so is the harddrive. In short, everything is alright. Still functioning and downloading like nothing happened. Except at both hinge of the lcd panel, the brushed metal surface cover of the lid is bent. But it's more obvious at the hinge on the right. That's basically it. It's just cosmetic.. so far. Hope so. And yes, beside this story, I never faced any kind of problem with this laptop. Really proud to have this one as my laptop. Oh yes, maybe I'm a little disappointed to know that ATi 5470 and i5 is not a good friend with hackintosh. Been wasting 2 weeks of my life to get Snow Leopard running without boot cd but to no avail. So am now back to square 1, Windows 7. Unless there's kext for handling ATi and i5. |

-Haha lowyard scared the hell out of me.
I thought it was a soft/hardware failure but instead it was a human error -Thanks guys regarding the warranty. -I think those deals at Digital Mall are good. I don't think freebies are worth over rm100. Right? |
