i think max is 5-6 hours only.. U need to turn on battery saving mode and close any unnecessary programs to achieve that..

Hey guys I noticed a newer version of 4820tg has ATI 6550 graphic than the 5650. It's same price!

How good is 6550 compared with 5650? any other new differences than the 5650 version other than processor and GPU?

the outlook also same?

exactly the same except slightly better processor and GPU...

6550M is a exactly the same as 5650 but slightly higher clocked so better performance..

Go get it.. I think probably price slash to clear stock as new models of sandy bridge coming out very soon, and people would be prefer 5750G for rm400 more..

4820TG released more than half a year ago already.. Just different variants along the way.. i5-480m is outdated already and it's time to make way for sandy bridge.. That's why price going down fast.. Ok I rephrase, maybe not clearing stock but price slash to welcome sandy bridges... 3820TG have been selling as long as 4820TG in SG, just that they only decided to bring it in Malaysia after price drop..

hello..just want to ask...i own a 4820tg...how do i make the battery last for 8 hours?mine only showing 4 hours max on battery..normal operation,no gaming..
*
8 is only in advertisement! but, i think it's possible to achieve 7 hours:

1. Use Intel HD graphic card only (Right click on desktop, Select Switchable Graphic, chose Power Saving GPU)
2. Disable Wifi and Bluetooth
3. Disable CDROM (I think can use Device manager to disable it)
4. No USB device attached
5. Click on the Battery icon in taskbar, select Power Saver
6. Download and install BatteryCare, run it as Administrator.
7. Select brightness to minimum
8. Minimize usage of applications that use a lot of HDD (like performing disk scanning, defragmentation, etc)

I attended a 3 and a half hour meeting end up with more than 60% battery left. So, its achievable.

It was a mistake lol, 4820TG is still RM2499 as another forummer reconfirmed just now...

3820TG is still a very good buy for rm2199... Sandy Bridge laptops would be Rm2.5k above at least...

Is it worth to to add over rm300 for extra 2 years warranty for an Acer Timeline X 4280?
Or just the 1 year that comes with the laptop enough?
Usually these warranties include for hardware as well or just re-format?

Yep, includes hardware (hdd, RAM, motherboard..) except screen, battery and power adapter. I just got the 3820TG over the weekend with the 2 year extended warranty. Solid little machine. smile.gif
