My wife delivered twice already at Az-Zahrah Bangi by the same doctor - Dr Fadzliana
Normal single room RM 1900-RM2000. Epidural RM700 if not mistaken.
The staff is friendly, food is pretty good.

Agree with you both. Everyone comes from all walks of life, different wants and needs.

But i wasn't saying that expensive = safety at all, sorry if what i wrote was misunderstood. I've also experienced bad treatment in a private/ expensive hospital. Tis why i will not go back there, even if it's just for a small matter.
I didn't know about this " if you are looking gynae who eventually the only one to help you for the whole pregnancy process, then your only choice is private hospital or engage a private doctor. This is not the case for GH smile.gif  " -So thanks for pointing that out smile.gif

Even if you have a lot of money, but your situation is very serious, they will still request you go to GH, cuz they have all the advanced gears and equipments. So i'm definitely not saying that if you have/ or don't have the money dont go here or there and vice versa etc. What i mean is that everyone should be wise and choose carefully when having a baby, the money needed to support, choosing a gynae/ doc, clinic, hospital etc.

Sometimes if you feel that the doc/ gynae that you are seeing is not right for you and doesn't match what you require, it's best to change i guess.

For me, I measure expensive = comfort.... I.e, My wife had experience, being warded in Prince Court and Pusrawi, if compare, the services in Prince Court are far more better than at Pusrawi, the comfort of the baby, mom and guest. It's priceless. Yes, if you have any complication, the hospital would suggest/ ask you to go to government hospital, but we need to plan for the best and prepare for the worst too... right? ;p My 2nd child is due in Feb 2011, still thinking to 'try' which hospital... hehehehe....

I think comfort and professional doctor are two very important factors to choose for baby deliveries, i know the cost is high, more comfort = more expensive but hey, it's pretty darn important right

being the positive thinker i am, well, i guess if it's expensive, plan ahead and go find a way to make more money for it, easier said than done, i know hahaha

I don't think that expensive is always equal to comfort. And furthermore I guess priority should be given to professionalism and ability to handle serious cases with complications. I was not accepted in private hospital due to being Rh-negative only, was told to go to GH. Nowdays possible Rh-incompatibility is not a problem actually but not foe them.

my wife safely delivered a health baby girl at Penawar Klinik & Dewan Bersalin Muslimah. Normal birth and the total cost is rm1.8k

My only concern while surveying for suitable place is privacy. I don't want any practical student to linger around taking notes while my wife is battling with her life. I also want a female medical staff only to be present during the process. So, in Penang, I think this is one of the place. Especially for muslims.

Service is good. Food is superb although it was a simple dish. Best is, all the prayers are well displayed so that you can recite it even during the delivering process.

Worth it!

Recently just delivered my baby girl in SDMC (previously known as SJMC)

Follow up with Dr Fong Chee Kin throughout pregnancy and delivered by Dr Tan Teck Sin (Dr Fong was on leave) and i was 3 weeks early sweat.gif

Highly recommend for both doctors, extremely profesional and strong advocate of normal delivery biggrin.gif biggrin.gif altho u might have to put up with their "strictness" and no-nonsense characteristics

Upon Check-in must pay deposit of RM4000, assuming normal delivery estimate is about RM4000-RM5000 (depending on epidural i guess)

I was hoping for normal delivery, however after 18 hours of on and off contractions, doctor recommended c-sec (trust this doctor - cos he actually scolded my aunt when she ASKED for C-sec, so i know this doc wont simply recommend c-sec to make $$)

Therefore after epidural and c-sec total bill was about RM11,500++ with 4D3N stay in twin-sharing room. Dr Tan said as long as i fart and poo (seriously no joke) then i can go home, but i decided to stay another 2 days as the Child Dr suspected my baby may have jaundice - true enough report on 3rd came out positive... so i stayed for 4th day for treatment - cos i wanted to breastfeed and very far to travel from my house....

Overall experience in SDMC with nurses and Dr are very good - except for the queue blush.gif

After a week i had infection on c-sec.... sigh... but thats another story....

I'm thinking whether to do checkups & deliver in SDMC or pantai bangsar. I read both got good reviews but SDMC charges higher.

Hi guys and ladies, icon_question.gif

I'm new here in this thread and sorry in advance for asking noobish question. notworthy.gif

We just got married for 3 months++ and i need some info on which hospital/clinic to deliver baby conducted by female doctor only, i don't want any male doctor to deliver the baby as i feel uncomfortable with it. grumble.gif
We are currently staying in KL and Selangor area.
I don't mind the amount of hospital fees as long its a female doctor, preferably experienced and a Muslim.

Thanks in advance. notworthy.gif
