Battery inaccuracy like that has been a problem all the way to when I was using an N95. At first, battery level stays high all of the sudden drop to critical within 3 hours.

Went to NCC to complain, first they reset battery polling la, reset software la, lastly they change battery. Still got that problem.

i would like to analyse symbian failure.symbian is a very mature os and it have frenly UI which is well recognized for several years.why it falls and market share dropping fast?symbian flagship 2010-n8.680mhz arm11(omnia hd 600mhz arm cortex a8), 1st Nokia 256mb ram(omnia hd 256mb ram), 1st Nokia 3 page homescreen (omnia hd  3 page homescreen), 1st Nokia hd video recording(omnia hd,hd video recording), 1st Nokia 12mp camera(satio), 1st Nokia amoled screen(omnia hd amoled screen)...unfortunately omnia hd and satio represent symbian for year 2009 but not Nokia. Ppl never bother about symbian product produced by Samsung or SE coz most of the ppl in the market feel symbian=Nokia. How if omnia hd+se spec produced by Nokia last year?symbian will never get criticized and symbian will never fall. Looking at the spec offered by n97?its a sign of symbian fall. However, the n8 comes with several feature which is FIRST in the market such as USB-OTG,HDMI output, largest sensor in camera phone which are add value to n8. (luckily n8 selling at 1690 which is considered very worthy)N8 should be launched at yester-year and n9 should be launched at yesterday in order to remain competitiveness. Its a late/delay of 1 year. I recommend Nokia dun kiam siap on spec for next symbian or meego flagship device and please dun delay too long for releasing. Nowadays consumer are very conscious bout spec and pls put high end spec for flagship device.
I really hope Glen,Radiance or symbian/Nokia top management ppl are looking on this statement.
PS:when BBXiong and AndreKua play on my omnia hd:OH MY GOD!IS THIS SYMBIAN?lol.same response as me when 1st touch of omnia hd

godlike spec does not promise a successful for a phone, afterall it is the stability of the OS and user experience. who will like a phone which need frequent restart or hang always? a smooth and stable OS will make a phone success IMO

that one is Symbian's issue...i always suspected the battery bar is 3x longer but then just don have the space to show them, hence use 24 hours no drop, suddenly in 3 hours drop to critical tongue.gif

That happens when I connect the USB to my phone, suddenly change to default theme. Pull out, and it changes back to normal.

Install it into Phone Memory instead of Mass Memory...that way your theme won't change to default smile.gif
It's because when you plug into comp under Mass Storage mode, it'll shut the connection between your phone and the Mass Storage hence your theme will change to default...so install themes into Phone Memory if you don't want it to change to default smile.gif

i think that would be much better...i certainly don want a smooth and stable OS running on a 220Mhz processor(Nokia 6680) now tongue.gif

anyway i have to agree with nicholas, cos if you put higher spec, you don have to phase out your product so frequently as it will definitely last longer, then with less product in the market, nokia can put more software engineers into specific model's firmware team, and product a better quality firmware even at launch...

Oh my, Gizmodo takes one last shot at the N8. Can't even be bothered to review it.

And apparently a Nokia PR girl replied in the comments:
QUOTE
Hi Matt, this is Anna from Nokia PR.

Matt, thanks for your opinion. We’re sorry you have chosen not to review the N8, and it’s ok that you don’t like our products. Millions of other people (and some of your peers at Gizmodo) like our products, but we’re happy to come pick it up from you. There are plenty of other influencers who would appreciate the opportunity to experience the N8.

As you know through various discussions with us, we are committed to the Symbian platform, which is still the world’s most widely used smartphone OS, contrary to your own viewpoint. Our newest Symbian devices are already shipping and we’ve had a record number of preorders for Nokia N8’s. You could’ve bashed the device and we would’ve been ok with it, really. We’ll just send them to people who write a review to help their audience make a decision.

Some companies might be tempted to blacklist you from future reviews, but that’s not our style. However, we have decided to give this N8 away to a lucky consumer – learn how by following @Nokia on Twitter.

Thanks, Matt.

Gizmodo have lost their credibility. I remember few years where Gizmodo still relevant to me, now its tech sh** sites. I wont bother to check their review cause it will be sucks unless N8 have apple logo on it. Even Engadget made solid review of N8 except the rate 5/10 which I disagree, should be 6~7/10 and people now relying on GSMArena and other review sites for more unbiased review.
