QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Oct 23 2010, 12:29 PM) what headset are u using ah? im thking of chging to other headset as well but might lose the call function and music functions frm the stock headset. any recommendations? It writes AVF. Is it Altec Lansing? I use the big headset (the ones laptop use), prefer that, surroud sound and bass very powerful and ear wont feel pain after long use. The headset does not have a microphone over the mouth area, but can take phone calls. Just talk and it acts as handsfree. Superb. No play/stop/skip buttons like Nokia headset but has volume control (it is loud even your handset music player volume is 10%, you'll need the volume control on the headset). The model I'm using is HM035. This post has been edited by EXkurogane: Oct 23 2010, 12:39 PM

QUOTE(LawdRetep @ Oct 23 2010, 12:10 PM) Hello guys! I've already completed step one of porting my number from Celcom to Maxis in order to subscribe to the Nokia N8 contract from Maxis. But before I make the plunge, with all the problems and drawbacks taken into consideration, is there ANYONE that is dissatisfied with their phone? I don't wanna fork out RM1299 to regret the rest of my life. I'm fine with my phone and I believe I will use it for the next 2+ years. I can only hope Nokia can release firmware update as soon as possible to fix some bugs and missing features (weak browser, no portrait QWERTY). The thing you really have to worry is that Maxis contract.

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Oct 23 2010, 12:40 PM) Limitation by N8's screen resolution. Wrong. 720p videos demand high CPU work, and the N8 cannot handle 720p files encoded with flash.

(I dont have any vid higher resolution than 720p anyway) Its about the HD videos on youtube. Youtube HD demands more processing power, and the N8 uses Flash Lite, not full Flash 10.x. Even if you could run full Flash, you can still have problem playing HD videos if your CPU speed is not up to par. I heard Android Froyo supports full flash, no? If so, hows the 720p video performance?

I suggest you talk to the ones that had the experience of being Maxis subscriber. I never subscribe to any plans and only use pre-paid.

Choose it ifAs long as your bill exceed the plan monthly subscription + data plan its a good deal because indirect you are given a discount. Dont choose it ifIf you call below your monthly subscription then in a way it becomes very expensive in long run. Many complains their data plan shoot up to skyhigh in their billing. Most consumer are not that tech savy to know how to turn it off. Like the Nokia N8 it keeps finding ways to connect to the internet via widget, via games, via applications, via web browser, via gps and etc as long as u disable it properly you dont have to worry.
