Minolta lenses are VERY durable... most of them are built like a tank. So you really dont have to worry... but of course u have to take note of the previous owner.

Does anyone find their 50mm SAM often overexpose the photos under bright light? I need to close up the aperture up to f5.6+ in order to get properly exposed photos. This kills the purpose of my 50mm lens.

fansoption, i think i like the smoothness of it.. very very nice Added on November 13, 2010, 6:44 pmQUOTE(spear2hot @ Nov 13 2010, 04:42 PM) Does anyone find their 50mm SAM often overexpose the photos under bright light? This kills the purpose of my 50mm lens. what's your ISO and shutter speed? under bright sunlight, if ISO and shutter speed is still unable to let u maintain your large aperture, then there's nothing u can do in camera, the next step is to get an ND filter.. lwiliam, at that length its abit hard to aim worr, i can feel "moving" as i am unstable/breathing/heartbeating, but after press shutter its sharp......is there anyway to use "continuous SS" so when framing/focusing easier to aim

as long as your shutter speed is decent enough, you should be able to get sharp pics...
and what do you mean by hard to aim? well, to me, it all come via practice...
