A55 has mirror, it just semi-transparent and dun have mechanism install on the mirror to flip it up.

It has a small tick for you to flip up the transparent mirror so u can clean the sensor xD

it shouldn't be troublesome
i've been overseas n stayed on campus but no dslr..as long as u have the right socket adapter, have allocated enough weight n pack it nicely for hand carry

Hi mike! I'm currently studying in University of Adelaide in South Australia, why did you have the thought of selling off your dslr and bringing a nex? I brought all my gear there which includes 2 tripods... lol... Well, my advice is to bring the "right" lens at the right time if you only plan to bring one lens out per outing when you're overseas. I find myself not utilizing my 55-200mm enough so I'm going to give it back to my dad soon. Travel light if you plan to wander around taking photos. I usually only wander around with only my KM50 f1.7 attached to my camera as it is an all rounder, works well indoors & outdoors biggrin.gif

p.s. Bring a m'sian extension chord with a universal adapter. It does wonders! smile.gif

ahpingko: Ah. You could process it but without making the birds greenish. Crop #20 to portrait orientation?

wingster: Eh I didn't see this!

fansoption: No problem. biggrin.gif

Yes the non-moving mirror should make it harder (but not impossible) for dust to go in. So far I have not noticed any dust on mine.

Read the manual on blowing the A55 sensor. Interestingly, like the NEX series, the shutter is open when the camera is off.

I like the light in #2 and #3 - with #1 a bit more exposure helps.

croomaniac: Yes indeed though you'd have to get creative by pointing the flash at selected subjects.

ieR: Go get it. HSM in A-mount!

e-jump: Your 85mm is already telephoto on the A300. biggrin.gif

destfull: Argh, why hasn't anybody shot a portrait using the 35mm F1.8 DT SAM? (Other than myself.) All I see are boring shots of toys, leaves and flowers. (Not saying yours ah ahpingko!)

zstan: The realism in your shot is a bit offputting.

i see i see, i thought of nex because its smaller and lighter.
im just afraid it'll eat up space... and also the hassle of bringing alot of gears.

thanks for the tip tho... happy.gif
