Today I just very unable to understand for Giottos tripod
I purchase it last month and I think theres nothing wrong with it until last 2 week when I was doing video shooting using DSLR and try to do low angle shots. The shoppers said to me that it have 2 pole socket : 1 is the normal pole socket like all the brands have and the other one is the very short pole socket which can do very low angle shot. So I try to do low angle shot by using the socket. During that time when I tried to take out the pan-head up and change the screw driver to the secondary pole socket (the short one), the screw stuck on the pan-head at first and then I dunno how to take it out so I decided to screw in the second pole socket just like normal and then it stucked and cannot be removed using whatever kind of tools. After that I went for sellers and even distributor and then they said I should put the plate first from the first pole socket before I can put on the second (short) pole socket and theres no warranty to claim and they will not even help me remove the screw for this things. The boss blame is my fault to put it like this but strangely when I ask the shoppers to use the new one to do the same as I do it can easily unscrew it where's my cannot. I dunno is my problem? They dun even have the replacement accessories for this and keep telling me go for any mechanical shop to chop the thing out and try my luck to find the stupid screw driver. Now I waste my RM4xx ringgit for this tripod ... I regret using the stupid low angle thingy. |

@fansoption: I like #3 and #4 for miniature effect
@lwliam: The shots doesn't look symmetrical to me xD, I mean the crop is a little bit of not balanced |

QUOTE(lwliam @ Oct 18 2010, 11:33 PM) how symmetrical do you want? like the 6 sides of a snow flake? or like the exact moment of the total eclipse of the sun? mind elaborating more? the wave is there but I felt the land(cliff?) there is being cut away too much and the wave is quite center IMO ... >.< p/s: by the way, the subject of that pic are the crashing waves on the cliff.. thanks jerry for noticing that.. |

QUOTE(Anly @ Oct 22 2010, 11:21 AM) i am thinking to get wide angle lens, in my mind, there is sony 11-18, tamron 10-24..which one got better iq??? and more worth of money? i check the price like not much different I prefer Tamron 10-24 F3.5-F4.5 because of its range and aperture ... but second hand Sony 11-18 F4.5~F5.6 is cheaper through but you get very dark aperture :{ (but still useful at outdoor) |

QUOTE(albnok @ Oct 24 2010, 11:18 PM) fansoption: Isn't #1 and #3 about the same? I like #4 but stopped down more. The bokeh can be distracting. All shots done by 17mm~24mm already very wide T_T ... still not get it the "wide" you said ... I try to get very close distance to them using widest range 8tvt: I actually like how the 50mm makes you stand further away, giving you this perspective. Wow NEX-VG10 in the wild! LOL where got marah. d4rkholeang3l: Nice #1 (but crop more). I like #2 but with more to the right. wingster: I like #4. #3 could use a different framing - go wide so you can crop to the left, or right, or whichever way to make it 'flow'. sevenor: The Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 is non-VC unless otherwise stated. There have been many generations of this lens! ahtiven: Somehow the Pocari Sweat drink with a laptop in the background doesn't quite match. No, the laptop's bright screen causes your tin can to underexpose. but still limited in shooting position as I try to prevent being crash with them as well shooting skating is quite challenging as it takes a lots of time to get a sharp focus ... @albnok:
I'm currently dun have tripod xD ... not fully cooperation honestly :{ just asking them to do the style they want because I'm just go to the skatepark there and then known them that day so there's a limitation to me however still I got ask them to go with this and that direction so I can take proper photos on them >.< as I couldn't have time meet my friends who skates and my friends always said busy all the time + location choice is very limited All the time I shoot at Mont Kiara skatepark because its the closest and the one I familiar to go with, other than that is too far from my place >.< ... Skaters is different people every week I visited. I did use wireless flash shot but it some how doesn't work and I'm not so sure how to use wireless flash on skate photography :{ even through I saw some photographers like Chase Jarvis did it well This post has been edited by wingster: Oct 25 2010, 10:42 AM |

Today visit KLPF ... tested all the camera around and the Sony A560 ... the sweep panaroma in A560/A580 is quite a pain I think as it keep bursting the shots non-stop (hurt the shutter mirror?) and short panning distance compare to NEX and A33/A55 IMO ...
Got meet some of my college senior there in the photo community booth xD as well ... |

QUOTE(evanttc @ Nov 1 2010, 05:29 PM) Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-F4 HSM is fast and silent focus but it soft from 50mm~70mm and F2.8 only available from 17mm~22mm. Good for video and all rounder but if you need F2.8 all the way, Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 better. |
