QUOTE(epalbee3 @ Oct 30 2010, 12:03 PM) Thanks, but do you recommend me to take this visa signature cc? Since it is a higher standard than platinum, may be it worth to change to this. One more thing, i had no problem to waive my annual fee since 6 years I use the citibank cc, will this premier miles got problem to waive? how much should i spend? IMHO you should only take the PremierMiles if you fly very frequently. Choosing the best credit card does not depend on the card's prestige but the reward/benefits you could get from it. QUOTE(keith_hjinhoh @ Oct 30 2010, 11:25 PM) That's about 3% premium that I have to pay! That may be a small amount, but if the amount is huge, the difference is significant... Is there any person have a completely different experience compared to mine? If you don't mind carrying quite an amount of foreign notes, you may make cash payment without being charged by Visa or Mastercard. I think the merchant will be glad to receive cash. Like Gen-X suggested, get the card which gives you lowest admin charge and highest points/benefits for overseas purchase.

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Oct 31 2010, 01:38 AM) Next time pay using direct debit. You don't have to pay the convenience fee then. Hi, IMO whether using direct debit or cc depends on the transaction amount and card feature. Since OCBC Ti cardmembers get to earn 1% on air ticket purchase, it is still worth to pay that convenience fee RM6 provided the trxn amount is at least RM600. What say you?

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Oct 31 2010, 03:36 AM) But at the end of the day, you'll still earn nothing (using RM600 as example) as the supposedly rebate earned will only be used to cover the RM6 charged by Air Asia. Besides, the OCBC Titanium MasterCard comes with a capped of RM50 cash rebate per month. Better charge something else to the card. By the way, Air Asia is charging RM6 convenience fee per sector flight right ? So if you buy a return ticket you'll be charged RM12 for convenience fee alone, am i right ? I'm not familiar with Air Asia. Helped my friend to buy one ticket before and paid everything using direct debit. Didn't have to pay convenience fee. But, the transaction amount can contribute to yearly spending amount which eventually hit RM10k then the bank will credit RM50 to our account. There is still a 0.5% yield. Anyway, the above case is only applicable for those whose annual spending amount almost/nearly hit RM10k. For cardmembers who can hit RM10k easily, then OCBC Ti is not recommended in this case.

QUOTE(winner @ Oct 31 2010, 11:44 AM) Who said OCBC Titanium MC is not suitable for those big spenders? It serves me perfectly as my primary card. When the monthly rebates have been maximised, I switch to other cards. Dude, read my entire post, don't just quote partially. Please read thoroughly before reply. I and Miles were discussing about using Ocbc Ti to purchase AA ticket. I never said the card is not suitable for big spenders. Miles said Ti's 1% rebate may be just enough to cover the convenience fee and end up didn't earn anything, but I replied that the swipe amount can help cardmember to achieve RM10k in order to get the bank waived the GST. This is especially suitable for cardmembers who do not spend much but wish to get GST waiver.

QUOTE(zenquix @ Oct 31 2010, 12:56 PM) Has anyone managed to use OCBC Internet Banking OCBC Tit MC to pay their bills? I paid my phone bill but till date not reflected at all... Yup, I paid my TNB bills twice already, both trxns were posted within 2 days. since you mentioned Non-posting of trxn, I also encountered same thing, but it happened in TM Online, not ocbc Internet banking itself. I received my latest TM bill and it showed I have made payment in last month. But the trxn has not been posted for 3 weeks.

QUOTE(zenquix @ Oct 31 2010, 01:33 PM) I paid my handphone bill. Had to omit the "." from the acct number according to OCBC CS (system rejects with the "."). Transaction already posted in my card but I don't see it in my provider's payment history. Huh?That's bad. Your case is 'service provider didnt receive payment but already reflected in cc', mine is 'service provider acknowledged payment but not posted in cc'.

FYI, CIMB/DA Flexi Plan for insurance/hospital/education bills has been revised.
Previously no minimum amount, now got minimum RM1,000. Darn, just been informed by CS about the revision when requesting for FPP conversion.

QUOTE(cenkudu @ Nov 1 2010, 12:50 PM) called OCBC since my application status is still under processing even though already six weeks. CS said they are waiting for recommendation. I'm not sure what does it means, the CS quickly said she will call me back once she know the status. Perhaps the recommendation from the bank's Credit Assessment Department (I wonder got such place)?

QUOTE(de.crystal @ Nov 1 2010, 12:57 PM) the flexi plan is the reason why am i still keeping the card. I tot the minimum amount has been fixed long time already. Unfortunately, I cant use cc to pay for my brother's tuisyen fees (he is studying in HELP), else, would have been a great saving in interest. No, previously no minimum amount, coz I hv a few FPP of a few hundreds only. Even the FPP ad has been renewed already. You check it out.

QUOTE(de.crystal @ Nov 3 2010, 11:12 AM) nah some they really care, some have even commented, wah u have a plat at the very young age. aiya, platinum only mar, even a fresh grad already can get Direct Access Plat (affinity partners card). LOL. Who cares the card colour. In future, perhaps Classic Card is the most exclusive card that everybody in queue is looking at your card wondering what card is that? Is it the latest prestige card?

QUOTE(de.crystal @ Nov 3 2010, 12:27 PM) the Plat is for selected affinity partners and has a minimum income limit, which i cant remember. IIANM, DA cards for affinity partners have lower income requirement than normal DA Gold cards. Most of them require only 24k, which is not difficult for fresh grad/professionals. Added on November 3, 2010, 12:39 pmQUOTE(rayfoo @ Nov 3 2010, 12:36 PM) to answer my own question and for anyone else wondering, the answer is yes Thank you for your kind feedback. QUOTE(ck3lam @ Nov 3 2010, 12:51 PM) This sounds familiar Depends on your design, it can end up like a telephone card or a Plat/WMC/VI-like card If for comparison, I’ll be more impress with those who pay lump sum cash instead of credit card. You can have a nice plat card with huge debts, but cash could mean you really afford it. And also will make you think twice before spending your hard earned money. LOL. That was extracted from your previous reply. Hope you don't mind You're so humorous. I cannot imagine a cc looks like a phone (italk?) card. I was once invited by my boss to dine together with bosses. 5 pax ate RM8XX, and one of the bosses (supplier actually) really paid by cash. If I owned OCBC Ti at that time, I might have offered to pay

QUOTE(WhiteWing @ Nov 3 2010, 01:08 PM) same here .. recently I just got SCB Platinum, I cannot show them I got that card if not I doom Bosses won't bother about cards. It is the banks who always chase after bosses to apply cards. A friend of mine (a senior manager) has been Citi Gold cardmembers since 80's, I once saw his statement on his table (it was put openly on top) when I was distributing memos. It was six digits.
