You mean Fixed deposit? then the bank will hold your fixed deposit certificate?  wub.gif
No. Just that you won't be able to withdraw the money in the time deposit deposit account pledged as long as your card is still active.

And both HSBC and SCB overseas transactions admin rate is high, normal CC from MBB better anytime for overseas transactions.
Yes. I have noticed this too. The exchange rate for HSBC credit card is quite high indeed. I am not sure if it is through the roof like Standard Chartered and Alliance Bank but still, it's high.

Dad got his Premier Mastercard when they converted his Partner account to Premier. Not even a month after getting the Premier Mastercard he called up and requested for the Visa Platinum. They sent it to him, no questions asked. How come?
I have no idea.

QUOTE(rickkywong @ Nov 1 2010, 12:13 AM)
is there any minimum guideline CL for each type of card?
before that i know minimum CL for classic is 3k, gold is 10k and platinum is 25k. please correct me if i'm wrong...
Every bank has different rules. HSBC VISA Platinum and HSBC Premier MasterCard for example, bear a minimum credit line of RM30k and the credit limit for both HSBC VISA Platinum and HSBC Premier MasterCard is not combined. The credit line for HSBC VISA Platinum however, can be combined with other HSBC credit card such as Gold MasterCard. It is just the credit line for HSBC Premier MasterCard is not combined with any other HSBC credit cards.

And if you have one card each from HSBC and HSBC Amanah, you'll get two separate credit lines too.

how come in my case it is combined? both my hsbc premier mastercard and visa platinum share the same CL.
Huh ? Is it ? I read in the brochure it is not ? I had the HSBC VISA Platinum last time but then, i got it by pledging a time deposit account to it.

Does anyone know where got Standard Chartered booth? I want to apply the free RM188 cards, and get some free gift... heehee...

Btw, does it means that if I apply for 2 Platinum cards (Visa & Master) and 1 Biz Platinum card I will get RM 188 X 3 = RM564? drool.gif
Thanks ya
There is one outside of Carrefour Mid Valley. Near Lavender Bakery.

QUOTE(persistence85 @ Nov 1 2010, 05:26 PM)
put some time deposit and pledge to bank? sure can approve one...
Not necessarily so. Someone took such route but was declined. It was OCBC Bank for Titanium MasterCard, by the way.

QUOTE(persistence85 @ Nov 1 2010, 05:26 PM)
btw, i wanna ask all, if we cancel our credit card using time deposit, how many days it took to withdrawl our fixed deposits?  hmm.gif
Once the status of your credit card is confirmed to be canceled, the staff at the branch can help you to withdraw the money immediately. This is for HSBC only though. Not sure how it works for other banks as all banks practice a different policy.

QUOTE(hebe87 @ Nov 1 2010, 08:54 PM)
from the alliance bank officer (the one where i approach to apply for younique card),
Alliance Younique CC is a gold card, so the minimum income is 36k (no longer offering classic card)

however in practice, it differs, especially when you hold a cc with other bank with good credit history, they still consider you even u did not reach their requirement... may give it a try...

for this year they give me back rm50 as a "welcome gift" to offset government gst
It is not RM36k. It is only RM18k. Written so in their credit card application form.

Thanks miles and hebe, asking these on behalf of my work mate. He plan to apply 1 credit card for emergency and credit purpose. He consulted me what care suite him the most,i plan to tell him alliance younique with rate feature.
Is he always going to owe the bank money ? I mean not paying in full every month ? Because the Alliance Bank Younique MasterCard rate card doesn't give any Timeless Bonus Point or cash rebate.

From their website, it seems there are 3 packages to choose for the Younique card: Rebates, Rates and  Rewards. For Rebates, theres up to 2% cash back (without any restriction, except the spending range from 2k - 5k, i think) and for Rewards, there is double Timless Bonus Points. The down side is you can only CHOOSE 1 "package" out of the 3 options.
Last time the Rebates option gives you both cash back and Timeless Bonus Points but it seems that it gives only cash back now.

Can anyone help me with this..
Is the uob one platinum credit card a real platinum card?

No. That is definitely not a Platinum card.

QUOTE(jensen_tidus @ Nov 2 2010, 03:03 PM)
I just found that like citibank's cash back platinum card is not really a real plat card.
This really is a Platinum card actually. Just a much lower standard Platinum card. You only need a mere RM48k/pa of salary or an existing Gold credit card with a minimum credit limit of RM10k to qualify for this card.

Anyone have idea how to get invitation for RHB Bank Visa Infinite card other than placing huge fixed deposit with them?
I know few of them with existing RHB Bank platinum card with more than 100k credit limit get the invitation.
However, when call in to enquire with their CS, they have no idea at all.  rclxub.gif  doh.gif
RHB Bank Premier relationship managers might have an answer for you.

You might be disappointed coz even with RM200K deposit you will only get a complimentary Gold card. A Platinum @ RM500K.
For VI ... it'll be a huge number.
The rules have apparently changed when they changed the name from Infinity Banking to Premier Banking. All Premier Banking customers will now get a complimentary RHB Bank Platinum credit card regardless of your total relationship balance as long as you're a RHB Premier Banking customers. I think someone said here a while ago that your Premier relationship manager can get you the VISA Infinite if you have RM1 Million with RHB Bank.

RHB PB customer are issued RHB PB Debit Card where 1st year free and subsequent year RM50 (damn, equivalent to CC GST)
And the best thing about RHB Bank Premier Banking VISA debit card is the unlimited free cash withdrawals at all local banks ATM rclxms.gif thumbup.gif tongue.gif The RM50 annual fee is indeed very high but this will be automatically waived provided you charge at least RM5,000 into your debit card once a year. And i believe if you are indeed a big fish, they won't mind to waive the annual fee as well as the card replacement fee (if necessary) which is also RM50/replacement. Banks do this kind of thing discreetly all the time biggrin.gif

Some minor corrections. The replacement fee for RHB Bank Premier Banking VISA debit card is only RM15 and not RM50 as i previously stated. RM50 for annual fee but just RM15 for replacement card eh ? Might as well just get a replacement card every year doh.gif

Meaning confirm will get the credit card if is the bank offer credit card for pre-approved credit card?
More or less so unless you're a bankrupt or have a really terrible credit record.

guys, maybes, some banks are desperate for customers. My car loan with tiger bank was approved last two week ago and when i check with maybank2u today, there was additional 2 cc account in my account. Maybank Ikhwan Visa and Ikhwan Amex cc. LOL
Maybank and Citibank always do that. Two cards mean you'll have to pay RM100 for credit card tax doh.gif

nah some they really care, some have even commented, wah u have a plat at the very young age.

btw, what does IMHO mean, have always wanted to ask?
At the end of the day, it is your bank account balances that matter and not the hyped up plastic card. What is the point of holding a Platinum/World/Signature/Infinite card if you don't actually have a lot of cold hard cash ?

Anyway, holding a Platinum/World/Signature/Infinite card can pose a problem to you at times. People nowadays generally still feel anyone holding a Platinum credit card must be very rich and that thought kind of spooks me sometimes. It might just attract the wrong attention wink.gif

FYI, i'm non-muslim. I wonder why they give me islamic cc.

Because they are looking at increasing Maybank Islamic credit card users base.
