If you are not settle all retail transaction from Dec 16th to Dec 31st, these transaction doesn't entitle to 20 days interest-free period.
So, it will be charged interest starting from 1jan 1st to next statement date.
*
Why is this? I was under the impression if I settled the entire statement balance, I will be entitled to interest free new retail transactions from Dec 15 onwards....

My OCBC Titanium Statement Date is 15 Dec 2010.
Transactions from 16 Dec 2010 to 15 Jan 2011, the cashback
1. is based on cap of RM100(5%)+RM20(1%)
2. is based on cap of RM50(5%+1%)
3. is based on (1)+(2) = cap of RM170

Which would it be ?
*
My guess is (2) as the rebate are calculated based on statement date. So the statement date being 15 Jan 2011 is already out of the promo period.

How would you explain the maximum RM600+RM120 rebate during the promotion as stated in the T&C? If only RM50 max for this statement, impossible they claim you can get the total rebate for the promotion period.
*
QUOTE(ronnie @ Oct 29 2010, 09:16 AM)
Where do you find the RM600+RM120 in the T&C ?
*
Yeah the same question as Ronnie....

I only recall seeing "marketing material" of rebates up to RM600 for 2010 and not RM720. As we know now that the rebates are calculated based on statement dates i.e. people with new card in August and statement date in September got only RM120 (and not RM120 for August and RM120 Sept). It is my opinion that the chances are slim for a statement in Jan 2011 to get RM120 in rebates as people with various statements dates in January will claim to be eligible (like late Jan 2011?).

Now if you have gotten the card early Aug (before statement date Aug 15?), then yes maybe you can get RM600 in rebates. I only expect to get up to RM480 in rebates.

T&C link http://www.ocbccards.com.my/titaniumRebates_tncEN.aspx

RM600 from Aug 1 to Dec 31 2010.

for me (i wish), ocbc should give max rm120 rebates for transaction untill 31/12/2010, as the advertised.

let say statement date is 15-jan-2011. so the bill is transcation from 16-dec-2010 to 15-jan-2011.
transaction from 16-dec-2010 till 31-dec-2010 should received rebates max rm120,
while transaction from 1-jan-2011 till 15-jan-2011 get rebates max rm50.

haha how we wish... but cannot la... nanti a new argument of RM120 + RM50 = RM170 rebate pula

Yup, I paid my TNB bills twice already, both trxns were posted within 2 days.

since you mentioned Non-posting of trxn, I also encountered same thing, but it happened in TM Online, not ocbc Internet banking itself. I received my latest TM bill and it showed I have made payment in last month. But the trxn has not been posted for 3 weeks.

I paid my handphone bill. Had to omit the "." from the acct number according to OCBC CS (system rejects with the "."). Transaction already posted in my card but I don't see it in my provider's payment history.

Hi guys. I'm abit newbie in credit card.

I have one credit card on hand, I know that I have to pay RM50 for the credit card tax. But the thing is how will I know when I need to pay for it? Will it charge in the credit card bill? I remember i receive my card on Nov 2010, so now is nov 2011. I worried I did not pay RM50 on time. Thanks.....
*
it will be charged to your statement and you will pay for it together with your bill.. likely you will see it this month or the next.

By the way, i just got RM139.85 from HSBC MEGASALE CASHBACK !!!  laugh.gif   This is definitely a surprise. Kind of ecstatic now as i really did not see this coming. Besides, this is actually the first time i got something from my credit card  rclxms.gif

Gratz. I only got a measly RM60 although i spend more than enough to warrant the full RM150 cashback and during the 25% times too. All these non guaranteed cash back stuff is wearing my patience thin.

I call them b4, they said it is entitle 5% but not the promotion rate of 8%. Must use internet banking to entitle 8%.

You won't see the additional 3% now anyway. That is only credited next year if i recall correctly.

There is a total of 28 retail transactions in the current statement of my OCBC Titanium MC. It is so difficult to check which transactions were entitled to 5% cash back. If I calculated correctly, below are some transactions which were supposedly entitled to 5% cash back but were only given 1% rebate.

1. Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya
2. Hai-O Chain Store
3. House + Co, Bangsar Shopping Centre
*
I can understand why (1) should be 5% but (2) and (3)? Aren't those normal stores?

Edit: Ah... (3) is a cafe + furniture store. My guess is the credit card terminal is from the furniture store (normal retail MCC)

it depends what do you spend most. if you spend more on these 4 categories (petrol, groceries, dining & utility bill) & not a very big spender, then the Titanium card will be better. Unless you spend more than 10k every month, then the Platinum should be better as the cash rebate is unlimited. But the platinum is only by invitation.

At 0.5% only, there are better cards to consider like HSBC Amanah Plat (0.5% normal transaction, 1% overseas transactions).

If using at oversea not worst however 1% rebate, currency and conversion charge approx 1% from total purchase, charge more to earn more rebate ???
It's been documented that Standard Chartered exchange rates are one of the highest. however with rebate and points, it is better than the HSBC cards

Maybank Petronas Platinum or OCBC Titanium i think. Higher cash rebate and lower admin charge. Best promotion offer @ asiawide. If worldwide, citibank and hsbc. Personal comments.  whistling.gif
I am tempted to change my petronas plat to a normal plat as MBB seems to give inconsistent service and offerings to this card.

Not that I know of. but normal plat offers 2x points for overseas transactions + insurance.
