Today I went to SS14 Nissan HQ to test drive the Teana. First, I went to
Honda showroom first to test drive the Accord again, then second to Toyota for the Camry and third to Nissan for the Teana and last for the Sonata, and yes, Accord NVH is the worst in between Teana, Camry and Sonata. But handling is the best in between these 3 cars and the most uncomfortable ride as well. Camry is a lot better than the Accord for the NVH and comfortable too. But Teana is the best in between these 4 cars. Teana have the best interior layout, every button in well in place and clean, interior material also the best compare to other 3 cars. I thing I must mention is the Teana seats is really comfortable to sit plus the quietness cabin, this is a real winner. As for the Sonata, I found that have nothing special to talk about, except the good looking and cheaper price. Handling, it is slightly better than Camry, but Teana and Accord is better. For NVH, it is still sligtly better than Accord, but totally lost out to Teana and Camry.

hosiery2u, michaelzolt,

How do you feel about teana's build quality compared to the accord? When I drove the 2.5l test car at nissan oug, I had the nagging feeling that it was loose and relatively less sturdy. The perception I had is like well, after 3 yrs the accord will still have firm fittings while I suspect teana would be rattling at the end of 2 yrs.

I do like the teana very much. It's just this weird sense that's holding me back tongue.gif

Hi there, that day I have tested the Teana 2.0 and 2.5 and I didn't hear anything noise in the cabin or something loose, I think that what you heard that day probably is something that not fix properly, I think that shouldn't be any problem. As for the Accord, the tyre noise is quite obvious when driving through the rough road, so very hard to detect the internal cabin noise such as the dashboard, plastic, or cabling loosen. Right now I'm waiting to see whether to get the Teana 2.0 Lux or 2.5 model. After Driving this Teana, I have no longer interested in the Camry or Accord.

He wasnt refering to any rattling sound la. He was refering to a subjective feeling of lack of sturdiness la.

If ure not desperate for a car, then i would suggest you wait for the new Toyota Camry. It will be released worldwide Q4 2011 and should reach us by Q1 2012. Its a complete overhaul of the existing model with newer engines and a new generation 6 speed gb.

Dude, 2012 is a little bit too long for me to wait, because until now I still not yet see any picture of the new Camry, so will it be nice or conservative look, I have no idea. After Camry, I think there will be new Accord to follow and probably another 2-3 years another new Teana will be launching, so keep waiting will be endless.

Waiting for something better will always be a wiser option than rushing into something which looks good now. There are actually many ppl waiting for the new Camry. Check out the foreign motoring blogs in the US and ull see how many are putting off their purchases just for the new Camry.

Nissan can launch a new model anytime but it will probably only cause a ripple but when Toyota launches a new flagship model it becomes a wave. There is a reason for that. If u can understand that reason then it'll be worth a wait. But if u dont and if u need a new car urgently, then no problem.

I've just sat on my cousin's 2 years old Accord (the latest 2.0 model), driver side door panel having rattling sound non-stop while the car is moving (something loose for sure), speaker board at the back and dashboard having vibrating and rattling sound as well. Honda quality? Totally out of my expectation sweat.gif

There will always be a few cases of quality issue. No such thing as a perfect car. But if these quality issues happen across many units and becomes common, then it becomes an issue. 1 off issues like this shouldnt be taken as a yardstick.

If rattling sounds are such a big concern, what would your comment be for the 12 units of the latest model Ferrari 458 catching fire in 6 countries within 3 months of its launch?

Well, let's command on mine 10 FL Civic then, 5 months old and rattling sound everywhere. I've joined some Civic forum and club and majority of the owners are suffering the same problem. No doubt, Honda's quality is going down this recent years, at least for our region (CKD), no argue with that.
I'm stated that because people are asking about that, are they asking about firing upon Ferrari now?

yes maybe Honda's quality is going down. But then again, even 2004 Honda City's have many problems as well.

Yes, again, I do agree with your statement, "no such thing as a perfect car".
