QUOTE(masz94 @ Nov 21 2010, 10:21 PM)
You need to test drive both to feel the difference. My father decided to bught the Accord after comparing it with Camry. Accord is better overall interms of most aspects such as handling, performance, looks etc. Camry just looks to bloated and the latest facelift somehow looks desperately Audi wannabe. In terms of design, one of the most visible design aspects that you could see is the window line of both cars and you can easily differentiate which one is a real gem  wub.gif . Camry 2.0 also got an old school 4 speed tranny opposed to Accord's 5 speeder.

My personal experience going head to head with my father's Accord and a Camry, from 0-190 km/h Camry don't have a chance at all to even sniff my Accord's tail  flex.gif . As speed builds the gap is also increasing. Also Camry can't take corners as hard as Accord could. C'mon man, I thing I can say is Toyota now is not like Toyota of yesteryears  doh.gif . In almost every Toyota cars models (models that UMW brought in) the engine will be less powerful than the Honda cars of respective segments like:
City 125PS : Vios 109PS

Accord 2.0 156PS : Camry 2.0 147PS

Accord 2.4 180PS : Camry 2.4 167PS

Civic 1.8 140 PS : Corolla Altis 1.8 140PS (civic betters in terms of torque by 1nm  tongue.gif )

Jazz 125PS  : Yaris 109 PS
& Etc.... ( i didn't compare the civic hybrid and the prius due to Prius'es bigger engine ( by 500cc), price) rclxub.gif

Hopefully people won't come and bash me. I'm not just a Honda fan i'm also Suzuki, Nissan man etc and only god knows how i admire the TOYOTA Supra rclxm9.gif . I'm just stating the facts. Wake up people! yawn.gif . Wake up.....

Thanx....

Then mind telling us why is that Camry and Vios sales are much higher than Accord and City?

cybermaster. he was jz telling his own review from his own experience.

i can tell u the simple answer. more ppl buy it bcos more ppl prefer it. my sis bf got it. right side neighbour got it. opp neighbour father n son got one each. further down the road got few neighbours got it. my work cols got it, diff colours. see how popular it is?
Of course i know its his own review from his own experience. Arent we all mostly commenting based on our experience or knowledge? Kinda silly to state the obvious rite?

Opinions are always appreciated. But it should be taken across many factors not just by comparing horse power alone. I think thats silly when there are many more important factors e.g ride comfort, after sales service, resale value, specs, price, etc

wow 138k. very competitive. kalah accord n camry
*
Very competitive? I dont think so. The Camry 2.0E is priced RM 145K which is only 7K more expensive than the Teana. If u want to match the Camry/Accord you have to ensure your cars are priced at least 12-15K cheaper. Nissan is making the same mistake as Hyundai did with their Sonata. How many Sonata's have u seen on the road since its launch?

Plus everybody knows that Nissan will keep the same model for at least 8-10 years and keep modifying it like that they're doing with the Sentra. This thrashes its resale value.

Im sure we wont be seeing many Teana's on the road. Plus ppl already know that the new Camry is due out in early 2012.

Brother, this is Nissan lar, not Kia or Hyundai lar, this car in China selling price is higher than Camry and Accord, but it can outsell Camry and Accord lar. Please go and search first lar.
*
Why should i search and compare car sales in other countries? Ive said many times that we are talking about MALAYSIA A car which does well overseas may not do well in Malaysia because of local conditions.

A little dissapointed with its pricing, for 142k I'll go for camry for 154k tongue.gif

Exactly. I cannot understand why other car manufacturers cannot understand that. So far only Kia has realised and acted on that with their Forte.

You are asking a car company selling more car than Honda worldwide to sell their car with lower price than their rivals in Malaysia with more than 20%. Didn't you find it a bit funny? As for KIA, actually the Forte price is also lower around the world lar in C-segment car, not only in Malaysia.
*
Who cares about Honda? Im comparing with Toyota. And im refering to the economics in Malaysia only. The rule of thumb is if any car manufacturer wants to do as well as Toyota in Malaysia, then it has to ensure that their prices are much lower and their specs better. If they cant, then be prepared for lower sales and dont complain about Malaysian metality, etc. Of course dont compare luxury models like BMW or MERC.

u do like to pick fights dont u cybermaster?

cant u be abit courteous to other ppl opinion, and be so kind not correct other ppl's opinion.

kinda tired with ur comments everywhere here in FnF picking on other ppl's feedback.

those r ppl's opinion. be it right or wrong, they got rights to say watever they wan. its a public forum.

learn to loosen up, crack a joke once in a while. let other ppl say wat they wan. jeez....
*
I think its you who needs to understand how forums work. I never said DONT comment did i? When u comment, be prepared to hear someone's counter comment. Its not about acceptance or tolerance. Its about speaking with facts. If u dont want people to make remarks on your comment, then dont comment in the first place. As long as you put your opinion on the forum, there will be those who will support it or oppose it. Being matured is not just about accepting supporters but also accepting those who might not agree with your comments. Ive always argued with facts and thats how i will continue to respond.

Cheers!

eye, r u sure the new camry will be out 2012?

i test drove the teana too
felt in love with it

might just cancel my inspira booking and go for the teana....but the 2.4 pricing is steep sad.gif
i am thinking twice on the 2.0

comparing the accord n camry, i prefer the teana.....
and maybe later get a smaller car for wife
*
Yes Camry will be out in 2012. First u consider a 92K Inspira and then all of a sudden u can jump to a 138K Teana just like that? That shows that u dont have any real planning when it comes to cars.

visited Toyota & Honda last few weeks. Camry & Accord did not give any surprises to me...Just 'Oh! car big.'
Yesterday went to Nissan to see Teana. At 1st, thought of no surprise on this car. But when walk in the showroom, and saw it - WOW! BIG car! As usual, Teana appearance is not that outstanding compare to Camry or Accord. But the interior of it really nice, comfort, and huge! Now...I am thinking of whether to shift my Sylphy order to Teana happy.gif
*
What discount did u get for the Sylphy and what interest rate?

my dad booked a 3.5l teana, priced at 248k, quite a bargain I would say. I tried to poison my old man to get the passat but fail. collecting the car this Saturday. will review how it feels once I get to seat in the car. haha don't think I will get to drive it though tongue.gif
*
For that price i would rather go for a BMW 3 Series with much superior technology and specs. Although internal space is limited compared to the Teana.

Hi there, that day I have tested the Teana 2.0 and 2.5 and I didn't hear anything noise in the cabin or something loose, I think that what you heard that day probably is something that not fix properly, I think that shouldn't be any problem. As for the Accord, the tyre noise is quite obvious when driving through the rough road, so very hard to detect the internal cabin noise such as the dashboard, plastic, or cabling loosen. Right now I'm waiting to see whether to get the Teana 2.0 Lux or 2.5 model. After Driving this Teana, I have no longer interested in the Camry or Accord.
*
He wasnt refering to any rattling sound la. He was refering to a subjective feeling of lack of sturdiness la.

If ure not desperate for a car, then i would suggest you wait for the new Toyota Camry. It will be released worldwide Q4 2011 and should reach us by Q1 2012. Its a complete overhaul of the existing model with newer engines and a new generation 6 speed gb.

Dude, 2012 is a little bit too long for me to wait, because until now I still not yet see any picture of the new Camry, so will it be nice or conservative look, I have no idea. After Camry, I think there will be new Accord to follow and probably another 2-3 years another new Teana will be launching, so keep waiting will be endless.
*
Waiting for something better will always be a wiser option than rushing into something which looks good now. There are actually many ppl waiting for the new Camry. Check out the foreign motoring blogs in the US and ull see how many are putting off their purchases just for the new Camry.

Nissan can launch a new model anytime but it will probably only cause a ripple but when Toyota launches a new flagship model it becomes a wave. There is a reason for that. If u can understand that reason then it'll be worth a wait. But if u dont and if u need a new car urgently, then no problem.

I've just sat on my cousin's 2 years old Accord (the latest 2.0 model), driver side door panel having rattling sound non-stop while the car is moving (something loose for sure), speaker board at the back and dashboard having vibrating and rattling sound as well. Honda quality? Totally out of my expectation  sweat.gif
*
There will always be a few cases of quality issue. No such thing as a perfect car. But if these quality issues happen across many units and becomes common, then it becomes an issue. 1 off issues like this shouldnt be taken as a yardstick.

If rattling sounds are such a big concern, what would your comment be for the 12 units of the latest model Ferrari 458 catching fire in 6 countries within 3 months of its launch?

Well, let's command on mine 10 FL Civic then, 5 months old and rattling sound everywhere. I've joined some Civic forum and club and majority of the owners are suffering the same problem. No doubt, Honda's quality is going down this recent years, at least for our region (CKD), no argue with that.
I'm stated that because people are asking about that, are they asking about firing upon Ferrari now?
*
yes maybe Honda's quality is going down. But then again, even 2004 Honda City's have many problems as well.

i mean by de time camry come out new version the current version resell value will drop . my 0.10 cents opinion la hehe
*
Resale values drop because of 2 factors regardless of brand:

1) age
2) launch of newer models

But to say that the resale value of the Teana will be better than the Camry isnt true as well as resale values are dependent on demand.

QUOTE(hosiery2u @ Dec 2 2010, 06:50 PM)
Today afternoon I went to Honda showroom again to test the Accord with 2 of mine colleagues and later went to Nissan for the Teana again. After driving the Accord, I still find the Accord NVH isn't good for a car at this level, too bad for the Honda. And I purposely test the door for the Accord since quite a few forummer said Accord doors are heavier than the Teana one. After I tried to close and open a few times, I have found Accord doors and Teana doors weight quite similar, not much different, when close the Accord door (front), I found the sound isn't that solid, the Teana, when close the door, you can hear a very solid "thoomp" sound. But the Accord sound is "thuungk", different from the Teana. 2 of my colleagues also found the same result.
*
Isnt the sound also dependent on the door seals?
