help! stuck btwn HTC desire hd and SAMSUNG galaxy s!! which to choose?

new SGS all comes with android 2.1 or 2,2??
i've heard some lag issues with the SGS, but some says it can be fixed, any reviews?

desire HD's sound, izzit very very bad compared to the SGS?

gaming wise, which phone performs better?

if gaming, IMO, samsung's hummingbird processor perform better there. lag issue in any android is fixable by using custom ROM

For new SGS, it usually comes with 2.2, but it depends on whether you bought old stock or new stock.

The lag issues are something to do with a poor file system used by Samsung, lagfixes are available and can be solved easily with a bit of knowledge.

About the sound, are you referring to the speaker or via the earphones? As for speaker, the DHD is not as loud as the SGS, but both of them aren't 5800XM loud anyways, so its not much of a big difference. As for earphones I can't judge, as I do not own a SGS to compare.

Gaming wise, both will do fine. The Desire HD's new Adreno 205 matches the SGS' PowerVR SGX 540 GPU evenly, if not better. Check the benchmarks to get an idea of what I mean.

The significant factor between both are their screens and build. Either you go for the heavy but solid aluminium unibody build and slightly bigger 4.3 inch screen on the DHD or go for the all plastic but light SGS and its beautiful 4.0 inch SuperAMOLED screen.

If you got the budget, get the Aino. Its camera is the best among the three, and the touchscreen works on Opera Mini so you can surf the internet with the touchscreen instead of relying on the buttons.

all can play games. but some, like wildfire, galaxy 5 can't play all games. if want to play all games, get phones with screen higher than 3.5". somethings like SE X10 is good though. 4", 1Ghz

Hi there, need some recommendation for selecting a phone for my aunt (60yo). she has been using SE K580i and now have to change.

budget : RM 500-700
Preferred brand: Sony Ericsson
Phone shape: Candybar
requirement: 3G, camera, easy to use & touchscreen is not necessary

she told me about the SE Yendo, but it does not have 3G function.. any other model should i look for?

Even cheap Spice mi300 can play some game on stock rom
but when update to custom ROM some fast game like NFS Shift not running

Check out the SE Elm (5MP camera), J105 Naite (2MP), and the C510 (3.2MP). All have 3G function and are even below RM500.
