i'm searching for a cheap, basic phone with the best reception. my w660i always looses signal when i'm in rural or small kampung area.

pls recommend.

For really basic, try a Nokia C1-00. Good reception and excellent battery life smile.gif

For something a bit more, get a Nokia X2. Also good reception (tested reception in pasir puteh tongue.gif) and with 5MP camera, stereo loudspeakers and priced at only about RM320 brand new smile.gif

hi,
need help here..
my gf loves qwerty on a phone.. been using the nokia e61 till this day mainly because she is a heavy texter... now  she decided to try out an iphone 4... i've been trying to suggest her to take a blackberry with bis. so, i need advices from the hp guru here on which unit would be best for her? currently the shortlist are:-

- iphone4 32gb with maxis ivalue1 for 12mnths (expensive but with high resell value jus incase she regrets)
- blackberry 9300 with digi smartplan+bis for 12mnths  (cheap option, she doesnt want it, i take it  whistling.gif )

what she wants is a phone that could

- take decent pictures to upload to FB, twitter,
- medium surfing on the web, read articles etc
- video streaming on youtube
- a media player to listen to songs and play music videos
- good battery life

thats about it. hopefully the sifus here could advice..

Both can do the job nicely, only thing is of course, in multimedia stuff the iphone does things better.

The keyboard on the iphone is really good, with its auto correction and all. Heavy texters usually find it a great thing to use. But if the person is more happy with a hardware keyboard then bb is the only way to go. smile.gif

Hi, I am first time new user here in lowyet forum.

Well, I just lost my phone.. again..
Thus, I am going to buy a new handphone, but I don't know which phone i should buy..

I used Nokia phone all the time and I getting used to Nokia phone function.
1st phone - Nokia 3220
2nd phone - Nokia 6120c
3rd phone - Nokia 5530 music xpress

Thus, maybe I am planning to buy Nokia phone again or maybe try another brand..
My last phone that I lost is Nokia 5530 music xpress, it was fine to me, but the only problem i don't like with it is the camera quality..

Therefore, I am asking anyone out there whether can recommend me any good handphone with good camera and wifi that is around RM800..
What I want best for my phone is..

- take decent photos to upload to FB, twitter,
- have wifi
- good battery life
- either touch screen or keypad is ok for me

Thank you very much~ ^^

RM800 can get you a LG Optimus One. Its an Android phone with 2.2 froyo and decent specs (512MB RAM, 600MHZ CPU, 3.2MP autofocus cam). Its my best recommendation.

If you insist on Nokia though, the X6 8GB seems to be the only reasonable choice.

Well, what do you use your phone for? Is a qwerty keyboard a must for you? Do you use the BB's service?

Btw yes, it does support youtube vids. Facebook vids I'm not so sure.

i use my phone for alot of things.... mutimedia web browsing emailing  checking the forums........ect ect ect.....

Well, do you need a qwerty hardware keyboard? If not, the iphone is a good alternative and does most thing you want pretty smoothly. If you hate the iphone, get Android, if you hate both, then Blackberry is the only way to go. tongue.gif

so do u have any androids to recommend...?

Plenty, but I need your budget limit and more details on what you prefer.

If your budget is without limit though, get a Galaxy S II, its coming in March. Best of the best specs for a phone at the moment. laugh.gif

Hey hey mobilephiles, planning to get a new phone but I am not sure what I'd prefer to get.. Here are the my requirements :
1. Brand : Nokia or Blackberry
2. Budget : No limit =D
3. Specs :Hmm, HD screen, i'd prefer a physical keypad (or hybrid with touchscreen)..
4.  Type/Size : Size doesn't matter for me =)

Im most likely using the phone for texting, calling and surfing the net. Not into games though. And also playing some music if I ever get bored. I'd set my eyes on E7 but if there are other recommendations, im more than glad to check it out. Thanks for reading.
*
If you want to stick with those two brands, currently the Torch is your only choice. The E7 is ok too, but we'll never know when it'll be released.

Any WVGA-screened 2.2 Froyo Android phone should be able to play facebook flash games nicely.

help! stuck btwn HTC desire hd and SAMSUNG galaxy s!! which to choose?

new SGS all comes with android 2.1 or 2,2??
i've heard some lag issues with the SGS, but some says it can be fixed, any reviews?

desire HD's sound, izzit very very bad compared to the SGS?

gaming wise, which phone performs better?

thanks!
*
For new SGS, it usually comes with 2.2, but it depends on whether you bought old stock or new stock.

The lag issues are something to do with a poor file system used by Samsung, lagfixes are available and can be solved easily with a bit of knowledge.

About the sound, are you referring to the speaker or via the earphones? As for speaker, the DHD is not as loud as the SGS, but both of them aren't 5800XM loud anyways, so its not much of a big difference. As for earphones I can't judge, as I do not own a SGS to compare.

Gaming wise, both will do fine. The Desire HD's new Adreno 205 matches the SGS' PowerVR SGX 540 GPU evenly, if not better. Check the benchmarks to get an idea of what I mean.

The significant factor between both are their screens and build. Either you go for the heavy but solid aluminium unibody build and slightly bigger 4.3 inch screen on the DHD or go for the all plastic but light SGS and its beautiful 4.0 inch SuperAMOLED screen. smile.gif

w995 and aino, e5... which is better?
i just use the phone for sms, calling, wifi awhile, camera
*
If you got the budget, get the Aino. Its camera is the best among the three, and the touchscreen works on Opera Mini so you can surf the internet with the touchscreen instead of relying on the buttons. smile.gif

Hi there, need some recommendation for selecting a phone for my aunt (60yo). she has been using SE K580i and now have to change.

budget : RM 500-700
Preferred brand: Sony Ericsson
Phone shape: Candybar
requirement: 3G, camera, easy to use & touchscreen is not necessary

she told me about the SE Yendo, but it does not have 3G function.. any other model should i look for?
*
Check out the SE Elm (5MP camera), J105 Naite (2MP), and the C510 (3.2MP). All have 3G function and are even below RM500.

Then how about the choices for quality photos?  sweat.gif
Actually i'm very confused bout types of phones in the market now... My current and only phone is Sony W810i.
Been doing some reading and... confused!  rclxub.gif
Android? Wins7? etc etc?

What's all these?  wink.gif
*
What's your definition of quality for the photos then? If you want no compromise in camera, then the N8 really is the only choice for now. The SE Android phones are decent in quality, but are no match in comparison, not to mention them being over your budget.

But if you just want a decent, not perfect camera phone, the SE X10 is a good choice. With 8 megapixels and HD video, its actual quality is decent too. Take a look at the camera shots gallery in this section and see if it fits your criteria.
