Hey guys I've been using a W910i for ~2.5 years now, as the build quality isn't astounding, it's starting to break apart lol. I need recommendations on getting a new smartphone as a replacement;

1. Brand; Any brand's fine
2. Budget; ~RM1500-RM2300 (I don't mind paying a little extra if it means better build)
3. Specs; General usage
4. Type/Size; Any

What I'm looking for is reliability and build quality. Phones that feel cheap, well, feel cheap and It's not exactly nice to handle. I've considered the iPhone 4, Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Desire, and a few others. But I have not reached a concluding point yet.

It would be much appreciated if you guys could point me to the right direction on purchasing a smartphone that's reliable and has excellent build quality smile.gif

If you choose Xperia X10 mini, my personal advice is try out the handphone first.

For me, my dream phone is Xperia X10 if i have that budget. It is not wise to spend too much on the handphones as it would depreciate over time.

Please keep in mind that if the handphone have the best build in the market, but it is constantly "torture" by its owner also won't last long.

i saw music is 1 of ur priority to u...
so dun come back and nuke us! i had told u now, it has SOFT LOUDSPEAKER & UPDATELESS FIRMWARE biggrin.gif

general usage? means what?
basic call & sms? basic smartphone capability?

more specific requirements like wan camera, hd video, gaming...so that we could help u...else any ifags will just told u, aiya get iphone la, teh best [ doh.gif ]

i explain every OS differences 1st:
iOS aka ipong : gaming, easy use, entertainment
most high end androids like SGS, DHD etc. : got good camera, gaming, web surfing[yo, Android v2.2> got full flash], a well-rounded OS
symbian, mostly nokias: simplicity, for those not playing much apps, basic smartphone capability like doc viewer, pdf reader...
BB : usually comes with a telco plan which 12/24/7 on9/surf web, teh real business guys
how about winmo? IDK LOL

i personally wont prefer u get hazel if u got a elm as choice
mayb u prefer hazel becoz of: slider[thus more ez spoil lol], front videocall cam, bulkier, support bigger size of microSD [16gb over elm's 8gb max support], slightly bigga screen

however if u wan x10 mini, better try 1st....seriously the screen is too small for touchscreen phones, try out whether is it a surferring or entertaining phone for you

else how bout x8? price bout the same as x10 mini, but the camera isnt that good compare to it [juz 3mp+LED F.] however theres 3" HVGA screen compare to x10 mini's 2.55"[WAD?! 2.55"?! thats very small for a touch!] QVGA screen~
same android 1.6 & now 2.1

excellent build quality, IMO=HTC's. since u got the budget, can go up to AP desireHD rclxms.gif but well, android need some times to get used to. but well, desire also nice IMO, but with smaller screen there.
take notes that, HTC's is a bit bulky because of their build material whistling.gif

theres also another desire called Desire Z, with slide-out qwerty keyboard, specs are abit like DHD due to the HD video recording

obviously, DHD more superior
