er, its about the modem...not ubuntu..try login to ur modem in ur browser, try ip address 192.168.1.1 or change the last to .255, c if u can connect to ur modem (use physical LAN cable)..when u success, it will display login screen, use admin as user name, then empty for password, usually tats the default for most modem

its not install..its what already in ur modem, just let ur modem login itself by letting ur modem know the login username for streamyx n password, thats all

i tried typing the 192.168.1.1/.255... still couldn't login... do i have to do it while i'm disconnected?? or i can do it while connected??

try cdburnerxp here, open the iso file with this application, it will show u how to continue. n remember, in bios set 1st boot device as ur cdrom

for ubuntu, better format, next time /home mount in a separate partition, so u can keep ur files. when i was using gentoo, just update online to new version thru portage..those days...

i have flashgot and downthemall, before i update the darn firefox i can flashgot to downthemall and use downthemall to download my things. but now after update it can't already.

any idea how to fuse them together again?

Software Sources->Updates

In Release upgrade pick Normal releases from the select box. Then you'll get an extra button in your Update Manager letting you update from 8.04 -> 8.10

Around 350mb of downloads though. I did it for Flash 10. sad.gif

if u said wine, then dont worry, virus cant run at root privilege if it is specific for windows. same for virtual machine
