you meant you want to put ubuntu to pendrive and boot from it? yes you can. google 'unetbootin'

yes, if you know what you are doing and did not do anything funny .... ie format or repartition your default OS drive.

I can't teach you step by step, too tedious. google and experience yourself; make sure you backup your important data before doing any experiment that you  had never done before

If u let Ubuntu take ur whole disk during installation, then most likely XP's installer now cannot see the partition & will not find any free space available to install XP.

U probably have to do this:
- Boot to Ubuntu LiveCD (Not your HDD installation)
- Start the Partition Editor. It's under System menu somewhere.
- Delete any ext3 or swap partitions. (If you're not sure & u have no data on the HDD, you can delete all the partitions)
- Apply the changes, shutdown the LiveCD & try to install XP again.

Ubuntu 7.04 can ka??

It's possible with any version of Ubuntu, but only 8.10 onwards have the feature built-in. Earlier versions u had to use 3rd-party tools like Unetbootin.

Sounds like your alsa module needs some tweaking.

First u need to know what soundcard ur using.
$ lspci

Look for an 'Audio device', then you can google from there.

I dun understand ur question at all man. Wait wat? & extract wat?    Pls explain.

It should be an ISO file. I guess u have to extract the rar file & should end up with an ISO file like this: ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386.iso
You then have to burn the ISO to a CD. Remember to Burn as CD image, don't just put the ISO file into the CD.
Once you have the CD, just boot the CD up from any PC and go through the guide to make a USB Flash Disk.

The file you downloaded should be called something like ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386.iso

This is an ISO file or disc image, not a Winrar or Winzip file. You need to burn this ISO to a blank CD or DVD.

For Nero, follow these steps.

Steps to create a CD if you have installed Nero - Burning ROM:

Download the ISO CD image to a folder on your computer.

Insert a blank CD in your CD-RW drive.

Start Nero Burning.

Follow the wizard steps to select Data CD creation.

When the wizard closes, click Burn Image on the File menu.

In the Open dialog box, select the ISO file, and then click Open.

In the wizard, click Burn to write the image to the CD.

You could also refer to the Ubuntu Wiki page.

Follow those guides and you'll be on your way.

Actually, if you prefer to use Malay, you could also go to Ubuntu Malaysia. The site and its users mainly use Malay, so might be a better source of help if you're more comfortable with that.

js go to ubuntu site, choose the architect of ur system (x86/x86_64), choose location u wan2 get it from...u'll get the ISO file, DONT OPEN IT WITH WINRAR OR ANYTHING!! use software u usually used to burn cd/dvd, then open this *.iso file from there, n burn it...u never burn cd image b4? *.iso is disc image, understand?
