wouldnt that thing make u deaf? Since u r shielding all the sound bounce back to the drummer  blink.gif
*
Well that's why you can hear everything you play, in the maximum sound inside as possible. doh.gif

Something like an isolator? And protection so that if someone threw a stone it wont hit your drums. laugh.gif

Oh and btw, how the drum shield look like at the back? Is it empty? How's the entrance. yawn.gif

I have a few friends, but this first. Do you want him to go to your place or you don't mind going out?
*
Dudee, do your friends do private tutoring in Subang? They come to my house. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(russellhere @ Dec 16 2010, 06:18 PM)
yup.
it's okay la.
kinda weird, but it still sounds good.
*
Haha it looks very very weird. But still, it's a church and one of the basic stuff we learn there is to be grateful and accept what's given. smile.gif

puchong, the teaching ok but the drum very old xP(not used to the setting)and the mute everything which I find it a bit diff to play..... when I go home I can play the beat straight, I think is because of the setting
*
I was like this too, probably till I get along very well with my tutor.

Hey guys, should I change the hoops or heads of my Pearl forum snare? Or should I just go for one that really suits my preference out of the box with some fine tuning? biggrin.gif

Ahhh Demon Drives ! Too bad I don't have spare funds for them.

Gotta stay with my fast doubles method. tongue.gif

Just moved my drums into my new room today, completely re-tuned everything, so far it's good. When the heads are ageing to "retire" I'm going to change it to some warm sounding Evans/Remo.

Cymbals too. biggrin.gif

I still need to practice alot on my consistency. smile.gif

Finger fulcrum method too. I'm having heavy hats now. Kinda hard to do the crisp I always wanted to do.

im staying in terrace house. Bought an acoustic drum. during daytime i play abit louder but not too loud. Just enough for me to practice the timing, stroke, and accents. Its do help to play soft as I find its harder to control when u trying to play soft. But at night, i slap all the silence pad. then just learn rudiments...
*
I do the same in the daytime too. Good thing my neghbourhood is all peaceful people.

Thankful cause the row of house behind mine can even hear my drumming quite clearly.

Basically how I learn to tune is to try and fail.

I start to tune from a high (both sides) tension to a low, as in high -> low(top), then high to love (both sides) then I listen to the difference, resonant and beater side etc.

But for bass drum, it just doesn't work. yawn.gif

I mean I really don't get the technique, like heels up or heel toe etc2. Just don't know if the method I'm using is correct. But i can't get to play it :/
*
My tips is that go for the one you like more and feel more comfortable doing it.

For me I like heel down and what I need to do is to warmup properly and just keep practicing so that the pain wont attack me. biggrin.gif

Of course I can do a bit of the swivel technique, but I don't really like it as it makes me have the habit to shake my leg alot, like in school or restaurant etc.

Ya something like that but the hand is doing 8th notes on the hi hat. How do you coordinate a triplet on the feet with eighth note on the hat. The triplet cant even with the eigth note duno where the middle note of triplet shud be.
Ya but how do i do it?
*
If calculations sometimes confuse you, practice more or just get over calculating for that moment but be sure to stay on the beat.

QUOTE(Bonescythe @ Jan 10 2011, 10:23 PM)
Probably you are right. But for me personally, heel down really could not give a good kick because there is a feeling of not enough power in the kick.. (Not in a good position to deliver a good kick). But again, that is for me.. I do not know about others.. But I am sure that most of you guys here use Heel up..

By the way, i can do around 220+ bpm using a single kick smile.gif
*
I don't find projection any problem now. smile.gif If you put a enough far distance between your throne and the pedal, you can get more projection. Cause you can step on the pedal easier and more power.

Lack of practice cause buyer of my hihats urged me. Didn't have time to buy a set of new hats before sending it off.

Only practicing drum rolls now since I'm lacking creativity and consistency there. nod.gif

Best drum cover guy on youtube makes a drum cover of the best drummer smile.gif

So now he's being sponsored by a studio. nod.gif

Well, for his talent he could actually just keep covering songs instead of getting in a band which he might not get alot of attention. biggrin.gif

My top drummer god... He is just marvellous. Nothing more.

Yeah love his style of playing. Wouldn't give much damn about the mainstream songs but he made them sounds sooooooooo awesome.

Probably one of the reason why I'm practicing to be more consistent on my drum rolls. This guys is just skillful that he can do a beat smoothly everytime.
