I'd pick Seiko than Casio because of the movement; pure mechanical watch is so much win.

i guess he meant the seiko 5 range...all seiko 5 are automatics, a type of mechanical watch..

between casio and seiko, they focus on different market...casio offer only quartz watches, mostly the lower end of the market compared to seiko..casio's most expensive range other than japan should be G-shock frogman..casio is more renown for g-shocks..

seiko on the other hand offers a mix of automatics, quartz, kinetics, spring drivers...price ranges from rm200+ to more than rm20k...

Military styled Seiko 5 hard to get below RM300. Up your budget to RM350 and you'll be able to get one from the SNZGxx series.

Out of stock or out of production? Out of stock still ok, can order. Out of production can try to find it online I guess.

I always find it hard to give a good answer when questions like these are asked. There's so many other factors to consider in your question. Both brands have watches in the low to high end. It's better to compare watch against watch, within the same price range, auto, quartz, solar, etc.

If I wanted an automatic, I'd go with Seiko. If I wanted a solar watch, functions, I'd go with a Casio. So it's kinda subjective depending on what you're looking for.

I've recently been quite impressed with Casio's Edifice Black Label series. Nice & sporty looking. And with Sebastian Vettel winning the F1 championship, another limited edition Sebastian Vettel is in the works. Can be sure the price will increase.

Price wise like Seiko, Casio do have quite a range from below RM1K to above RM10K.

I think that's still widely available. Not sure where you're from but I saw it in shops in Sg Wang, saw it at MidValley, guess most Seiko shops in major shopping centres should have it. Saw it last week in Selayang Mall.

20mm? Perhaps you looked at the smaller 38mm models? I used to own a SNZG15 and the dimension was 42mm, lug was 22mm. 22mm strap is quite standard for a lot of watches.

Nato straps definitely can. Most watches will be able to take nato straps except for those with integrated lugs like the Sportura series.
For bracelet it's best that you get the watch on bracelet coz I'm not sure if u can get aftermarket bracelet for the SNZGxx series. Perhaps highwind can give you the model no. since he has one on bracelet.

As for the price I really can't remember. I got it from virustar's shop in Penang while I was on holiday there earlier in the year. Bought a few watches from Penang so can't really recall the price for each. I do know I sold it for just RM250 to a forum member here so it must have been below RM400.

True...it's cheaper to get bracelet version and change it to other straps than the other way around..
