Consider import Acer 3820TG from Singapore?

The new Timeline X is really worth to buy, even if the HD5650 after have better replacement, still can sell 2nd hand the lappy for its battery life longer than normal lappy. Right?
My 4741G battery charge 1 hour can use 2 hours only.

A series is budget series while N series more towards multimedia....

Usage : online,music,movie,powepoint,simple usage for student...no gaming...fast performance...no netbook...

Anyone can recommend me a good laptop?

Any brand would do,

Budget is rm4000(not a single sen more!),

I'd probably be spending alot of time with photoshop, powerpoint, online games like TF2, L4D etc, watching alot of anime and shows, editing music videos, recording songs and editing them, watching youtube vids.

Size? Not sure about size. Would bigger be better? Most of the stuff i watch aren't always HD or anything. And about the memory, would it be better if i got a external HDD to store my stuff or get a laptop with large space in it? Since my stuff might reach up to 500GB(probably more) in the future.

And one more thing battery life. I'd like a to-be-able-to-watch-a-couple-of-hours-of-anime-before-the-battery-goes-dead kinda battery life.

Thanks in advance! Btw, I live in jb and travelling up and down to s'pore isn't a problem. So maybe it might be useful. Somehow.

GT420M is hell lot better than G310M

Target to buy Acer 4741G, i5 460M + nVidia GT420M but don't know this laptop best for gaming or not.

Will the 2GB A42JA GPU make a lot of difference with N43JQ's NV 425m?

Also I notice that N43JQ is mainly sold in US/UK, and of course in this forum. Having this said, most probably this model will not appear in the December's Pikom PC Fair right? So should make no difference if bought now?

better buy new Acer 4820TG, i5 460 + HD 5650...battery can last up to 8 hours..

mainly for portability for travelling and carrying around. Normal usage, most intensive is FB flash games and HD movie thru HDMI.

Been looking at Dell M101z (better GC?) and Acer 1830TZ (better proc?).. seems like they are the best choice i have right now.
But their price actually can get those higher spec like C2D P6000 14" but heavier as well.
So, I am undecided now.

Maybe there are others which i missed?

Based on specs the NV GT420M is more super than HD5650, but current benchmarks is 5650>GT420M. "Maybe" future firmware will bring improvements. What I like about the 4741G the keyboard is comfy nice to type on.

GT420M is a lot better than 310M..
For now, better opt for Acer 4820TG, i5 460M + ATi HD5650@RM2599

Nope, 2GB is simply overkill, even 1GB is more than enough.....
Well, by December, a lot new model might come up and have better spec/price compared to now...

There's also Dell M301z if you prefer 13''...
Well, of course you can get better spec with the larger screen, but you lost more portability which is the major selling point of these 11.6'' notebook...
Its depends which you value more for your money, power or portability..
