i5 = dual corei7 = quad core
(generally)
the i7-620m is a high clocked dual core.

depends, if ur using software that requires or is optimised for quad core... then yes.
Eg, GTA4 and RE5 would run better on an i7 than a high clocked i5 or... rendering video files/images using things like After effects or Photoshop would work better on i7 |

Hi, I'm looking for a laptop that I can use for daily usage such as gaming and stuff.
My budget is about 2k-4k. I'm looking for a 15.6" laptop with ATI graphics, and a good processor A few of my friends recommended me the Dell Studio XPS 16, but it's kinda expensive. Thanks. |

No other choice really, for 15.6'' with ATi is SXPS 16...
Other competitor in that price range is using nVidia... while other 15.6'' with ATi has weaker GPU than SXPS 16... |

Bam!Other competitor in that price range is using nVidia... while other 15.6'' with ATi has weaker GPU than SXPS 16... Problem is, it costs too much. My savings right now is only 200+ or so. That is like 3.9k? Oh man. |

@hanjin95 considering you have no idea whats a GPU and i5 i7 these IT terms, my wild guess is you don't need an overpowered laptop for daily usage? maybe you can list down your daily usages here....cuz rm4k is a big budget if you dun need a GPU. and you can go for models with more battery life aka 5820tg is a good choice =) 15 inches are 3kg tho...so if you buy an i7 with less than 2h battery life, u need another charger with you somemore. bad bad if you dun really need i7.
small tip: a rm2.5k might do ur job well ;D |

Which model/version of Dell XPS should I buy? My friends told me that I don't need to get the most expensive because one of the " middle" ones are good enough for gaming.
I would just like 4GB DDR3 RAM ATi Radeon HD 5730 And a i7 processor How much would that cost? Or what should I buy instead of this? |

Oh, well yeah im kinda blur in things like these. I always ask from my other friends for help. I do designing and photo editting as well. Im learning audio editting pretty soon by now so yeah. In term of games, i would demand a high res without lag small tip: a rm2.5k might do ur job well ;D |

QUOTE(HanJin95 @ Oct 13 2010, 11:39 PM) FullHD no lag... means ur settings probably go down to medium-low instead of medium-high.You want no lag high settings need to get something like the GTX460m/GTX260m/HD5850 that's puts you abv the 4.5k mark.... If ur good enough with medium graphics then you can get it la (fps around 30) |
