Whoa! Fring video calling over 3G/HSDPA works pretty well..

I just had a nice video conversation with my friend on Maxis network (I'm on Digi).

P/S Something us SGS users can do that HTC Desire users can't, haha..
*
nice one buddy! haha does it lag ? hows the quality? rclxms.gif does the other person need a fring as well or it goes to their normal phones?

I'm really upset with skype.
Was waiting for it eagerly, but then when its finally available, can't use it.
Really hope that samsung doesn't do something like this.
Shit lah skype!
*
Samsung galaxy support Skype only when you have Froyo. this is confirmed.
someone using froyo on their SGS and it worked. so lets wait for the official release or you may
flash and root to the unofficial firmware. icon_rolleyes.gif

Which tesco you bought the cable? I cannot find it at tesco puchong.
*
i also wanna know about this cable...whats the name of this cable??

by the way i just tried my SGS music player ...using the headset from the box...just noticed that the headset from
SGS is a shitty quality shakehead.gif i thought the player sound real bad, even my omnia 2 sound better and i change
the headset from omnia 2...it sound amazing especially with 5.1 sound...any of you guys notice this at all??

now my question is why samsung put shitty headset in the first place for an amazing high end phone like this?
even my omnia 2 headset 10x so much better... doh.gif using omnia 2 headset from now on for my SGS

No comment on the earphones or sound quality from SGS. I find my N81 with the not-into-your-ear-canal earphones sounds better.

Besides, accessing the player from SGS is not a walk in the park either. Still prefer the player on N81, easily accessible + got remote on the handsfree. So I use SGS for Radio most of the time.

Besides, the notion of battery draining already put me off from using it as music player. *sigh*
*
if you guys do listen to music from your SGS,(and dont mind with the battery life or have an extra battery)
i STRONGLY SUGGEST that you buy a good headphone and turn on the 5.1 sound bro.
its actually pretty darn good..its just a bad headset that came out of the box. it ALMOST FOOLED me tho laugh.gif cuz i thought
SGS doesnt sound that good. well its actually pretty darn amazing if you ask me..mark my words

BUY A GOOD HEADSET with a remote if you can! thumbup.gif

Ya i was there in Tesco Puchong on Saturday, could not find the cable, i would assume Cross bought it from the one in Kota Damansara? Anyway I will check in Low Yat Plaza the next time i am there, this is quite a common cable nowadays.
*
what do you call this cable? just a cable from phone to your HDMI tv ?

^ I'd assume that the phone was not powerful enough to power your headphones. Try earphones, would've sounded better. biggrin.gif
*
yes indeed. you need the earphone like the one came from sony ericsson? the one that has the rubber on the tip?
then itll be good. of course for headphone it wouldnt be powerfull enough, i also think its not loud enough too.
that is why its not suitable for headphones...cant turn it up louder

try use those earphones with the rubber on the tip, and turn up 5.1 ,..its like surround sound.
bad thing about it, cant turn up the volume much lol thats why not suitable for headphones

^ if you are not uploading via 3G, I'd say, just record at the best quality possible. In case you need to do video editing, you have a the nicest master copy.

As for uploading to Youtube. I think Youtube will generate the smaller resolution files automatically.
*
really? so i can just record it in 1280 x720 with superfine quality? and then upload in youtube and itll convert automatically?
isnt it gonna take forever to upload that big files? LOL

Yeah, the upload gonna take a while. Don't tell me you are still using 56k modem to surf the net. tongue.gif

Besides, if you use the Java applet on Youtube for uploading, it supports resume in case your upload got disconnected mid way. wink.gif
*
whats java applet? its for uploading on youtube? can i download it?? i need stuff like that cuz i upload videos heaps on youtube for travelling overseas

Java applet is a java app that runs inside your browser. Unfortunately, I do not know of any programs that uploads directly into your Youtube account. But the applet should works very well for your need, except for bulk uploads.

Try it out and see if it suits your requirements.
*
its called the applet? for bulk also ok. can upload few vids at the sametime right? ill google it.

if you mentioned that the "sound will come" then what is your problem? anyway i think quite a number of people had problems with the headset initially, myself included (i even went to a samsung shop to solve this problem and they had problems referred me to samsung tech support in the building beside low yat but unfortunately it was closed but after plugging in all the way problem was solved), try plugging in the jack all the way in, need to be a bit rough maybe cos the hole is still virgin, once it is in all the way, sure got sound. if still got problem, go to a Samsung Centre to change headset
*
haha ihad the same problem before too laugh.gif need to push it in really hard for the first time. samsung gives you a really bad headset. the sound is so crappy.
you might want to try it out with "good" or " better" ear phones plugs to enjoy the music from your SGS
