According to a thread i read recently, it says not to expect too much from the froyo update. It does fix some issues but all and all it does not do wonders. The changes is not significant.

Chrome-to-phone, the text selection with a magnifying glass on it. It's a pain to put selection in textbox right now.

I have emailed Samsung Mobile asking them to ditch the RFS file system, complaining that it ruining the good phone with bad file system. I even ask them to hire Supercurio to help them fix the lag and a bunch of others in XDA to better improve the phone since Sammy seems clueless/ignorant on customer complaints...

Hopefully they heed my call. Don't mind waiting till december if they really can solve the all problems associate with SGS. Here is the link if any of you feel like doing the same..

Maybe so, but GPS issue won't affect all SGS users, only those that use GPS alot or depends on it. But lag affects every SGS user. When you open you emails/sms/phone/apps, you need to wait 2-5 seconds, it is not good. It hurts even more when u see your friends HTC/Iphone can open any apps in snap, which you will feel like SGS should do the same but then why it is not.

Majority of users are not techie and most probably they don't know what this lagfix is all about or how to apply it. Trust me, majority are girls. And when they compare SGS with others on the same class, they'll feel others are better even though that is on the surface only. But sadly that is how people make their judgement mostly...

Please tell me you people wont go and storm Maxis callcenter after receiving a text message like this:

Confirmed Froyo records to MP4 format. However, I think audio quality is still the same as on Eclair - 32KHz audio.

Attached are codec info tabs for 2 videos (one from Eclair recording, the other from Froyo recording), captured off vlc on my laptop. I know my recording was 480p only, but trust me, the audio quality/setting is the same for 720p.

I would agree to this. I was previously on a Blackberry Curve 8900, on speakerphone call in mycar with my wife on speakerphone also in her car. No problems at all.

With the SGS, sometimes her voice breaks up a lot because my blaady SGS mic is picking up too much sound from my end, effectively drowning out her speech..

Not sure, but I am hoping it's a software problem.

is 2.1.update.1  latest version for eclair?

usually those firmware updates, where do you find them from?
