yep. agreed with risk.yo. better to have scratches on your screen protector rather than the screen/digitizer itself.... imagine the cost to change your screen (remember that it is usually not just a screen but instead a digitizer, that's what makes the screen itself quite mahal

QUOTE(sexualpower @ Oct 11 2010, 04:04 PM) for scratches from significantly sharper objects, i have no opinion~ for less sharp ones, I've not encountered problems but that was for 3 weeks~ hm.. strange... let me correct myself, it's extra non-necessary permissions as compared to normal Market apps~ I don't think screen protector offers much protection against this~ the weakness is much more than the advantage(s)~ my cheapo screen protector is so scratched by the end of 1st week it looks like a 1-year old phone~ my words against yours coz no specs on glass or plastic material for the ~ But nothing wrong with no screen protector either.. is up to the user's choice... @SexualPower: No matter how careful you use your phone, screen protector is always A MUST have accessory for touch screen phone. Because most of the time, you interact with the screen. Even though there's no scratch, maybe there's some dirt that very hard to remove, you still have a layer of screen protector. So you can remove the screen protector and your screen still looking fine. Agree guys?

Martin Fields Website... Wildfire Link
quote from website QUOTE Gloss finish # Our gloss finished LCD protective filter enhances color reproducibility and image sharpening by transfering more light and makes the screen brightly colored. Other filters with anti glare feature make use of diffused reflection instead to eliminate reflection. These sometimes cause lower color reproducibility which may result with a dull monochromic coloration UV cut and 90% light transmittance # Our filters reduce the strain on your eyes by blocking 99% of ultraviolet rays radiated from LCD screens. In addition, our filters allow 90% of light transmition while protecting the LCD screen from degradation as a result of strong sunlight and other natural lights. # High Scratch Resistance. # Easy to apply # It is removable, durable, reusable and washable. I prefer to put screen protector on my phone since this is the most frequent device I've used. There are some light scratches on my 5800xm (2nd user), which i don't care much.
