for scratches from significantly sharper objects, i have no opinion~ for less sharp ones, I've not encountered problems but that was for 3 weeks~
let me correct myself, it's extra non-necessary permissions as compared to normal Market apps~
I don't think screen protector offers much protection against this~ the weakness is much more than the advantage(s)~ my cheapo screen protector is so scratched by the end of 1st week it looks like a 1-year old phone~
my words against yours coz no specs on glass or plastic material for the ~

the screen definitely will get scratches... Unless u really really really protect it well.

hm.. strange...  probably u used a low quality screen protector. All along, my screen protector won't get scratches unless after a few month.. so far the screen protector on my wildfire just registered A scratch only after 1 month usage.
But nothing wrong with no screen protector either.. 
is up to the user's choice...

an easy example is if yr pocket put some coin or key with the phone yr phone sure kena scratches..

haha.cheapo screen protector...mine looks fine and looks like no screen protector at all, however there is a significant scratch on the screen protector...i peel off my protector and sees my screen is not affected...so, credits to the protector

btw guys, i did not use screen protector for years, after my K750i 1st year... about 2005 till now... i don have any visible scratches on the screen, of course i did not put any other things with my phone in my pocket... and my gf also but she always put her phone into the handbag...

BTW the screen protector that you guys is using is cheap... RM20 screen protector is nothing to shout about also
i used martin fields b4 much clearer and washable/reusable...

my wildfire until now don have any scratches at the screen until now.... cheers...
