I recently went to a few of interviews and have been asked what other companies I'm interviewing for. So I did tell them the kind of companies I interview with, but sometimes the interviewers will ask what's the company name? So should I answer it honestly? or can I say sth like "I choose not to tell"?

I feel that such questions are so intimidating and don't feel like answering it.

just say none. say that this is the first company that you go for interview. you can add that you're receiving other interview invitation, but if you're given a chance, you want to contribute and be a part of this company.. bla bla bla..

or you can say that you're helping your friend to run small business all this while. so this is the only interview that you have, and only now you actively looking for permanent job.. bla bla bla..

bluff a bit. don't be so honest.

well alternatively to be on the safe side should they query more on the business, you can always say you took a vacation after graduation just to reward yourself for such a long commitment on studies. they should understand as some of them too did it before.

My answer would be "I'm attending a few interviews this week with companies in the same industry or for position in a similar level". They should not ask where. And you can also do a bit white lie by saying "despite having few interviews, i am more excited to be here in this company and hope this sessions would be a fruitful one".

I went for a group interview once and few days before it I was super super nervous. It's my FIRST TIME! and noooooooooo to compete so openly with the other candidates!? what if they are so much more better and I look dumb?

surprisingly ... when I was there, I got called in together with 2 more girls (3 of us) and we sat down on a roundtable with the interviewer (only 1 person). No doubt, it was the standard questions : talk about yourself.

And as I was seated on far right, I allow the person on the left to start first. I guess it gives me time to workout my brain while someone else talks first. When we're done - to which the interviewer looks extremely bored (it's one-hour interview and i guess they're seeing like, 24 - 30 candidates per day). So i guess during times like these when its expected for everyone to blabber about themselves, SAY SOMETHING THAT TILL WAKE THEM UP.

After that - she gave us a question to discuss among ourselves - and she observes the way we speak. Each of us are expected to elaborate on our points when the discussion is over.

I find it fun, interesting and energizing. it's so much more better than personal interviews where the eyes are only focused on you. And I was less tense - and more relaxed.

I once read this book that says a lot of people comment that they will be honest in their interviews. Sure, no one's saying you shouldn't... but play smart. Interviews are basically a game, a test, and an entry ticket. A game to where both sides are trying to find out about each other. A test as to whether you meet their requirements and they meet yours. And it's also the ticket for you to get into your dream job - or whatever you are interviewing for. The interviewers are the gatekeepers wink.gif

Ask about job prospects, career advancement, career path, working environment, industry updates....

Those are a few that are pretty much standard Qs

In short, tell them bout ur self in shirt, where from, how old etc...try to avoid going through the whole CV of yours.

Then tell them about your education and your activities/projects in uni.

That's it since you dont have experience. No worries.
