RIM had official statement on this faulty batch. Below is some the it statement:

RIM determined that approximately one thousand BlackBerry PlayBook tablets (16 GB) were shipped with an OS build that may result in the devices being unable to properly load software upon initial set-up.

The majority of the affected devices are still in the distribution channel and haven't reached customers. RIM is working to replace the affected devices.

In the small number of cases where a customer received a PlayBook that is unable to properly load software upon initial set-up, they can contact RIM for assistance.

so it is not a big problem as descripted by ifad site like engadget fanning up the issue. Need to give credit to RIM that come clean and owned up to this bad batch. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif
Not like other who asked its fanboy to hold the phone on certain "correct" way...LOL

Actually Engadget update latest news/review on new gadget, etc. , http://www.engadget.com , for RIM playbook case, it published the affected serial numbers

The ifad site should be Gizmodo gadget site, http://www.gizmodo.com . laugh.gif

Looks like adaptor to connect to TV and LCD monitor via BB's micro USB port. (TV VGA port, S Video port and micro USB port with PAL/NTSC selection)

this is the reason why asian market been delayed. They detect this problem in last minute, meanwhile asian's Rim office has been prepared to launch this beast...

Hi guys, just picked one up on my way back to KL from SFO. Got the 64Gb unit.

Apart from the strong rubber smell (even on my fingers after using), the unit seems OK. I do find though the capacitive display not as responsive at the iPad.
