My friend just found out a bug on Playbook.
Do remember to accept the agreement on the Video Chat application or else your PB will get heat up and drain the battery.

Further test the Bridge browser, it seem fast enough under Digi 3G BIS.
When I was at Batam, Indonesia, I am using Telkomsel BIS. But even under 3G, it is still very slow.
So I am sure the Bridge browser is much depend on the BIS quality.

Anyone can share their Bridge browsing experience under Maxis, Celcom or Umobile?

confirm the batt drain ive tested so many days since i bot my pb n it drains batt like water. now after accepting d video call agreement, it goes normal. i discn fr power since 7am till now im in melaka meeting, k still hv got 70% batt.

regarding browser, i still prefer teethering n run on normal browser. im using celcom unlimited, n briidge browsing is much slower. anyone can explain this? all i can think off is bridge browsing is slow by the bb phone (9780) slower processor

I'm guessing Bridge browser goes through BIS, that's why its much slower, while tethering connects directly to the internet, which is why its faster. I guess the advantage of using the bridge browser is that the data are compressed therefore your data usage will be much lower, but if you're on unlimited package, tether away!

Info that all BB fan would like to know.. smile.gif

RIM’s Playbook sales steady, BlackBerry mixed: RBC
Channel checks by RBC Capital Markets show that Research In Motion Ltd. has sold an estimated 250,000 PlayBooks since launching on April 19. Analyst Mike Abramsky thinks the BlackBerry maker may sell 500,000 of the tablets in the first quarter, which would exceed early sales of the Android-powered Motorola Xoom.
“Despite its launch drawbacks and RIM’s recall of 1000 PlayBooks, checks show PlayBook returns are nominal to date,” Mr. Abramsky told clients.
RBC’s checks suggest RIM’s fiscal first quarter is tracking in line with the company’s lowered guidance, with earnings per share between US$1.30 and US$1.37 and revenue below US$5.2-billion.
BlackBerry checks indicate softness in the United States as first quarter smartphone shipments may fall 9% (quarter-over-quarter) to 13.5 million units, which is in line with RIM’s lowered guidance.
Since the company has no new U.S. product launches this quarter, RIM now has the lowest number of SKUs at U.S. carriers since the middle of 2007, Mr. Abramsky noted.
However, BlackBerry sales in Europe and Asia remain healthy, although low-end Android smartphones are emerging in some markets.

Kusa,

try this

1. close apps when idle
2. BT on is OK
3. try off wifi when u dont use it.
4. "i agree" @ video call
5. DISCHARGE ur PB to 0% but forcing it to drain all the batt, then do a FULL charge (till the 'charge' sign is no more at the batt)
6. set ur screen to 'optimum' brightness which is enuf for your own use.

fyi, im using a 16gb, the 1st 3 days i took back, my pb was draining like 10% every hr even on idle (off everything). but after charging and did above, yesterday's usage was superb, full charge with usage of at least 4-5 hrs (coz i travel and my fren driving), my batt is 17% now (after 22hrs since unplug from power)... i think this is very good batt life...

google ard about the pb batt, and u will find some info here and there.. according to the source, it's the OS prob. hopefully RIM will improve this.

Hi,

New PB 32 GB reporting in..

I've a query.. I can download free apps from the apps world. But for the paid apps, i'm stuck during the payment method. It seem can't accept either my CC (both amex & MC) and Paypal. Mentioning some sort of failed authorisation or something like that.

I suspect bcs both of it are M'sian account. Any of u M'sian PB user managed to buy apps from the appworld? or is it only me hv this kind of problem..

rgds,

For me, BBM open up first time when open.

Some steps U can do:
1)Did U have many BBM contact? Try to trim down and delete out those grey one.
2) Installed again your Bridge App in your BB.
3) Installed the BBM on your BB if step 1 and 2 didnt help.
