it's part of nokia's marketing plan so that people will buy n8.

Ip4 hardware is really good but the OS is design for simple user n not much to explore. Thats why for me, its mid range.

Not worried about games and multimedia - that is what the N8 is made for. Business users may not like the N8 if they want 1GHz speed.

N8 hardware is good with good camera. OS have thing can explore but the Ui sucks so n8 is mid end to me as well.

There will always be 'pro' or 'geek' claiming Android is for them and let the stupid one get IOS... in fact how many of them can really compile their own firmware other than read the guide and flash someone else hardwork. Yeah, Android is geeky, are the user geeky as well? Or just another follower?

Experience in owning one:
It's a touch-based multimedia/gaming console/device slapped on with Phone function.

Well, just my opinion. I believe many wouldn't even classify it as a smartphone as in computer-like, but a smartphone as in very smart for,... well... put in nice words... simple users.
The good: It virtually can suit any types of users.
The bad: That's it, it's locked to "simple" user level, there's no room for improvement, no moderate or advance feature to turn on if they want. (Note: This is also a very smart strategy/move, go figure...)

Agreeable, sometimes it makes me wonder if a smartphone is actually a phone that is smart enough to make basic (not so smart) people know how to use with ease and I think Iphone is just doing that...sorry to post this in N8 thread...when my mum says her Iphone "gom sai lei wor...can do this can do that...I kinda wanna smack head but kinda wanna agree too...it's pretty smart to help a basic user to get smart through the phone, isn't that juz kinda smart?

it is just a developer guide to port iphone apps to nokia symbian apps.. afterall it still depend on the iphone app developer whether to port it to symbian because the code belongs to them.

So much of conflict la... N8 no need good hardware, coz symbian are simple no need fancy eye candy.... Not like other phone...

Then. Iphone4 OS very simple.....

Apple have good hardware + simple OS.... IOS by far one of the most simple smart phone OS that bring a lot potential user to smart phone....

Then where is the n8 arguement now?

I think IOS has seriously helped a lot basic user out of their old time phone for calling and smsing habit

Actually here's the problem: iP4, anyone who gets their hand on it learns to use it immediately and fast.

Symbian: Old users like me who has stuck on Nseries ver since i have the N70 (later N73, and N95), finds it easy to use and user friendly, i can custom anyway i want to make it even easier to use (custom options = more complicated = needs more processor power and Ram). For first timers who touch a nokia, you see this response "WTF is this? How do i get this and that done? How?!"

Same case when i used my friends' Samsung with Android. I gave the same reaction. But, people choose Android over Symbian becauseof raw power from the processor, but i am not impressed with Android-powered phones because of battey life. Seems like a matter of preference. For one reason why symbian can lag in older phones is because Ui is complicated compared to iOS. That's my opinion. If Sym3 can make things better by being efficient then it's fine.

BTW, Maxis sure lose out to Digi...Compare Digi Plan and Maxis plan...it's like duh, obviously I'll get Digi plan to get IP4
