Hi all, for I4 ordered thru SG Apple Online store, can I just put in Singtel / Starhub / M1 sim card and surf net directly? Or need to configure the setting first?

Why still need to buy from sg if you can get the phone with some extra amt from maxis. Beside the issue of waiting.

You can use any sim card to surf the net. You need to activate the phone by plugging the phone to the pc/Mac. To activate the phone, you need to put a sim card in. So that means your singtel/M1/starhub tongue.gif

Why? Well mainly because of the waiting time. Secondly is the contract. For now I don't think you can buy outright from maxis/digi. If you can, you have to buy the phone at 100-200 ringgit more and sign a data plan for extra 30-40 ringgit for the next few months. Those who buy their phones from sg already have a data/call plan. smile.gif no point spending the extra money on unnecessary plans.

Simple, I don't need the 12/24 months contract and I'm planning to move over to SG next year smile.gif

Yes. You just put your Malaysian sim card into the phone and activate it. It is official unlock so it must accept all the sim card from around the world. smile.gif

@garykarhou: I have heard people buying phones in Singapore and using in Malaysia but not buy in Malaysia and use in Singapore. Phones in Singapore are relatively cheaper. smile.gif for your question, the answer is yes. smile.gif You can use phones from Malaysia and put in a SG sim

Thanks all. But for internet setting, do I need to do any configuration? Or I can surf directly after putting in sim card?

It will auto configure for you when you put in your sim. You don't have to worry. Remember to update your carrier settings if there is a small notification smile.gif Just click update and you are good to go. tongue.gif

You need to connect to iTunes to install the application and log into your iTunes account when you launch the application in your iPhone4. The whole process order will be completed on your iPhone 4 but you need an iTunes account that supports the application like a Singapore account. The Malaysian iTunes does not have the free case application thus you cannot order the case with a Malaysian account wink.gif
