Hey guys,i am back with more photos about the cablesĀ  biggrin.gif

HDMI,DVI and audio port

So which kind of cable i need to connect both my Ps3 and gaming rig to the monitor?
*
Simple.

1) Connect your PS3 with a HDMI cable to your monitor.
2) Use an auxilary cable (3.5mm) and connect that from your monitor Audio Out port to your Computer's onboard sound I/O, connect to the BLUE hole.
3) Go to your PS3's Sound Settings on the XMB, set Sound output to A/V.

That's it.

Your computer and PS3 will now play audio simultaneously.
Understand that your PC needs to be on or else there won't be sound, as the audio from the PS3 is passing through your PC to your speakers.

you can either do what ben said or use av switcher like shah said.

since you already connect your gaming rig to speaker using rca cable, might as well buy av switcher and use ps3 composite cable for it.

ps3 to monitor use hdmi
ps3 and gaming rig to av switcher use rca/composite.

set your ps3 sound setting to av.

btw auxilary cable is the 1 sarjan hassan post.3.5mm jack male to male cable

I see.Using 3.5mm cable is cheaper but hav to switch on both pc and ps3 in order to get sound.Using AV switcher,i dont hav to switch on both to get sound, but i hav to fork out a bit more money to buy the switcher biggrin.gif

Either way,now i get the idea. Thanks for helping me guys biggrin.gif

Added on February 1, 2011, 2:35 amOh yea, another forumer gave me a very good suggestion. He told me to use RCA Y Splitter to connect red and white cables (composite cables from Ps3) to the RCA Y Splitter and then connect to the Blue Port of my gaming rig. biggrin.gif

You can refer to the second post on the front page. It has some pictures for it. The Y-splitter descriptions is pretty much detailed and I'm using this setting for my visual-audio of Samsung LCD TV:PS3:Altec Lansing external speakers.

Please read it up and experiment a little. Good luck!
