For some reason, recently when I charge my Desire through wall charger, the red light will only appear after a few seconds. It used to start recognizing the charger immediately but now it doesnt. It also happens when I off the charger in the morning. The yellow light takes a few secs to turn off.

long time no see.  I think you forget the basic already...  laugh.gif

It is not connected with ROM.  Just need to power down your Desire and power up again (not via reboot).  Might need to clear your market cache too.  smile.gif

Thx for the tip on clearing market cache as that actually solved my non-related to above problem.

Check at the box under display. If its amoled it will be stated there. If nothing is stated its SLCD.

nick, i can explain the after off charger why it stays green
that's coz the charger has some capacitor inside that still contain some charge and will slowly discharge for a few sec.
but plugging in why delay....ermm maybe your phone is laggy?
try restart?

anyway, minor issue. i wont lose sleep over this tiny issue

I've read somewhere that if your phone recognizes the charger slow, it is a sign of possible usb brick. I always charge it when it is off so I guess it's not because of lagging phone. It's still pretty ok right now, I'm just afraid it might deteriorate in the future.

Hi guys, my desire desparately needs a battery calibration now. Fully charged & it'll still immediately drop to 95% when I disconnect from charger.
Follow this GUIDE step-by-step, problem still persists.

I did read before in XDA on how to successfully calibrate battery but can't search the thread anymore.

Greatly appreciate if someone who has successfully calibrated the battery to post a link here. Thanks!

How long you leave your phone to charge? Charge with open?
Not sure it is true or not but i think the phone will cut off the charging once it reach 100%....
If i disconnect the battery around 10 minutes after it full, normally it can remains at 100% for quite long time....
But if i leave it whole night charging with phone on, then it will drop to 98% pretty fast in the morning(sometimes just a few minutes)...
If i charge the phone in off condition, this wont happen....
If i'm using my phone (game or call) during charging end near 98% or 99%, once i unplug when it full, it will drop to around 97% or 96% very fast (less than a minutes sometimes)...

I charged with the phone powered off (for ~ 8 hours), as adviced. disconnect from ac charger this morning. power on, then i saw the dreaded 95%.
actually i m having this issue a week back. since it has now dropped to 95%, i guess following the villianrom guide will solve it but not in my case.

i read before that Wipe battery stats should be immediately after a full charge right?

dracoz,
my advise as below..
1. charge more than 5 hours - while phone is on
2. shut down phone - charge bout 1 hour
3. on back and let it stay for a while let say 2-3 minutes
4. then shut down again - charge bout 1 hour
5. on back the set and use as normal..

i try this 2 times to make it happen.
