Well there you go. Its insane that you can bring down the tech level of the Orks with these paper thin buildings and they are supposed to have gunz that kill on them. HA!

I wouldn't mind if they made it expensive but they should make it stronger. Well enough of this ranting. It aint gonna do any good. Still aint nothing like playing Orks...

I wonder if you could cripple the Eldar's pop as bad as the Orks when you take out their webway portal. But i think they would hurt too much as they have their support platforms.

How do you even start keeping your guys alive when the shooting starts? Boyz get mowed down so easily by Reaper Launchers, Heavy Bolters, Grenade Launchers, etc.
And we haven't moved to vehicles yet.
In most games I've watched, Orks have to go offensive right from the start, disrupting econs and so on. There hardly any fighting space once the shooty races reaches critical mass. Your axe gangs get reduced to half before they can chop the nearest enemy!

Well for one. Out mass them early on and If you think u cant even win then try to bring fights near your buildings. That the best i can think of.

Orks can get to tier 2 faster than anybody else so yeah the best way ork to win is to reach tech faster than the enemy and prevent the enemy to tech.

Out mass them early..... laugh.gif .With what....sluggas....this game is all about micromanagement...if you can pull that type of micromanagement...you must be a God...cause the type of micromanagement im talking about is where youre fighting with sluggas till your shootas come out and at the same time capturing SPs and building structures.

With just 2 squads from the other races...its so much easier to out micro Orks....Thats the reason why we depended on the trukks and trakks so much cause they're our only mobile infrantry killing machines. Its not even the shootas..the Ork infantry is more of a tag team gang...you go chop...me shoot.... laugh.gif

With the other races so strong against our 1st melee unit, its ultimately difficult for us to win. Thats the reason why we dont do well in extremely small maps and big maps, where else on medium maps we kinda do it okay....

Its a skill to win with Orks...i take my hat off the the Ork player like santiago and etc (not much of etc as there arent many as good as him).

So why do we still play with Orks, cause this game shows the true nature of Orks that we have been waiting for decades, not those little house maids type Orks that you find in Warcraft 3 and elsewhere.

Come on...you got to admit...the way DOW displays Ork ferocity is unmatched by any other game and when you use the Orks, you wanna feel that rage and know youre using an army with only one though in mind "KILL, KILL, KILL, KILL".

So coming back to strat. There are no distinct changes in Ork ranking...what i mean is stormboyz are almost the same with sluggas only thing is that they got backpacks.
The only thing I rush for in the Orks is the Nobz, Manz, Maddoks, Warboss, BigMek, Trakks, Trukks, KillaKans. I dont even use the Squiggoth as there is no time.

The rest of the units are pure meat fodder. Till you realise that when you use Orks there is no such thing as unit mortality, you'll never play better.

Oh one more thing, dont you think its a little too much that we have to upgrade Powerklaws for Orks and then equip each Nob individually. Do you know how much req is that...damn...and its with powerklaws that the Nobz are so fearsome...

well just a thought....

Oh i tried killing Eldar econ by targetting their Webway portals first and it works to a certain degree but they still got their warlocks to take care off. Those give boost to popcap as well. So its tricky....

U have to somehow do a little bluff to hit their buildings as FOF can quickly bring their units back to protect their buildings. One Support plat aint gonna much of a problem. Atleast Orks can still do buidling damage quite well.

Looks like there is no way to kill SM and Chaos popcap. hmmmm.

Lan Party yeah let try to host again.. the last time was totally ruin.

Hunt had to go to bangkok and Ctrl-Alt had to clean his place up...

Recently playing even more ork, I must say its a total diff from SM Well Slugga is really just good for capping and tieing squads up. With a BM attach you can pretty kill the thoughest hero ( a small chance of killing CS if priest dont FF your BM.)

Shoota may be weaker than Tacs but if i can mass faster than he can mass his i pretty much win.

I know most Orky player only get 1 slugga for capping only while his Shoota do the rest of the job.

Well, thats how u kill noobs.....but an exp player will know how to counter that move. Thats where the micro skills come in. In order to outmass his Tacs, you need to attack him first and then bring more shootas to the fray and at the same time reinforce, so you have more gunz shooting at him instead of the other way around.

When you got enough money, put down POG and upgrade the eavy armour first. You need you BM to tie up the back squads while you kill the army.

Well, i dont want to say "yes" to next weekend as i dont have my shift plan out yet but i would like to say im very interested in doing the LAN session next weekend. SO at the moment count me in.

Lets start showing the DOTA freaks that we're still here....

WAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHH.

Anyone tried the killing Eldar by Webways yet?...just asking....

Their walkers are terrible.....the BLs rip buildings to pieces...

I think that SC2 gonna be unlikely as since Starcraft resemble alot like DOW. but come to think of it SC looks alot like Warhammer 40K

Terran: a mix of IG and SM
Protoss: A mix of Tau and Eldar.
Zerg: Tyriands anyone...

hi, i got good news on the the DOW Expansion:

THQ AND RELIC ENTERTAINMENT UNEARTH SECOND DAWN OF WAR EXPANSION TITLE:

WARHAMMER® 40,000™: DAWN OF WAR - DARK CRUSADE™

Necrons March Inexorably Against The Greater Good For Ultimate Dominion Of Kronus

AGOURA HILLS, CA, May 1, 2006 - THQ Inc. (NASDAQ: THQI) and internal development studio Relic Entertainment today announced that the second expansion pack in the Dawn of War franchise, Warhammer® 40,000™: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade™, is currently in development. The game will feature two new playable races, the Tau Empire and the Necrons, bringing the number of totally unique races to an unprecedented seven. The game is expected to release in fall 2006.

In addition to the two new playable races, Dark Crusade will feature an all-new single player campaign centering on the conquest of a "meta-map", with each territory captured giving tangible rewards to the occupying force. A greatly expanded multiplayer component and a completely unique economy model for the Necrons will present gamers with the most compelling Dawn of War game to-date.

"With Dark Crusade we have taken a very different and exciting route with the single player game, allowing the player to conquer the globe as any of the seven unique playable races," said Ron Moravek, vice president THQ, general manager Relic Entertainment. "The Dawn of War franchise has become synonymous with innovation and attention to detail and we have drawn on the extensive knowledge base that Games Workshop's exhaustive universe provides us with to bring classic Tau and Necron combatants to the battlefield on Kronos."

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade is set in Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 universe, where armies of futuristic warriors, fighting machines and hordes of implacable aliens wage constant war. For more information on Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade, please visit www.dow-darkcrusade.com, or come and see the game at this year's E3 show in L.A. on the THQ stand #1324.

About Dawn of War - Dark Crusade
The bitter war for domination of the remote planet Kronus rages between Tau, Orks, Space Marines, Eldar, Imperial Guard and Chaos whilst deep in their tombs beneath the surface the sinister Necrons are awakening after 60 million years in stasis. Now, in the 41st millennium, they have found a galaxy teeming with life; a galaxy ripe for harvesting.

I wanna know what they mean bu this line "In addition to the two new playable races, Dark Crusade will feature an all-new single player campaign centering on the conquest of a "meta-map", with each territory captured giving tangible rewards to the occupying force"

that sounds interesting but i cant help wondering if this is something like borders in ROL.....

anyway, its good to know that relic still cares for DOW and they will not let it be a figment of our imagination.

Hope that they will continue to build on the produt that has captured the eyes of the world....i believe no one can comment that DOW isnt one of the bigboys of RTS games. One thing for sure, is that its a game for RTS veterans. not lazy bums of the joke that has been released, labelled as RTS games like.......u know which i talk about....

Just saw the movie....been in some forsaken remote place with no internet connection at all....

shocking.gif wow....that is a damn good movie.....i really hope they are doing a cinematic trailer at least for this expansion.....

My love for the Orks is gonna be challenged with the arrival of the Necrons....damn i love that Ctan....it always was a damn beautiful sight to see such fell beings. I wonder how the killcam is gonna be when the heroes and avatar meet the Ctan. Would love to see the death-ani....

Well, the Tau look awesome too...somehow i predict SM boys to be changing to the Tau.... They really look like from a Macros movie.... biggrin.gif

Lets hope for some good gameplay movies during the E3 show...so we can fill our thirst for DOW here.

What do you guys think of Warhammer:MOC (i know this isnt the place to discuss that , just asking). Just saw one of their gameplay vids. Looks good..Oldschool good...my taste as well.

One more thing the DOW:DC website is awesome...i really like the intro page picture.

In overall which side do you guys prefer to play

1. Good
2. Evil

My choice is Evilllllll.........muaaaahahahahahhaha
