not all camera shop can give such a low price. I walk in to several shop at Lowyat plaza , found out that 5/7 camera shop still maintain high price. rm2800+ . one shop still selling at rm3200 although I already ask for the best last price. haha.

x100 must still be really popular in KL area hence the high price..

when i buy mine 1 month ago in pg, the shop str8 quote me Rm2560 for body, leather pouch n 8gb card.. plus the ori hood n B+W UV filter i paid RM2870 only

Hi guys, for the owners of x100, question for you please.

I asked for a price for new unit RM2800 with 8GB card.

Does the price drop justifies buying x100 or the extra 1k+ worth the wait and upgrade of x100s?

for your reference... i bought one for RM2870 2 months ago which includes:

X100
Leather Pouch
Ciplak Class 4 8GB SD card
Ori Hood + Ciplak cap
B+W 49mm UV filter

if u don get all these... 2.8k is overpriced..

maybe you could try out X100 and x100s

the x100s improves on some of the complaints that x100 have:

- better sensor (X-Trans)
- improve AF speed
- better MF system
- faster startup

and introduce alot of minor improvement

if u feel that those improvements r critical to ur style of photography, then yes it is worth the extra 1k+

the x100 is my secondary camera for candid/street photography (i have a FF DSLR) and IMO, spending 4k for a fix lens camera is ... i rather buy the OMD-EM5...

don get me wrong... i love my x100 because the performance it gives me at that price

tough choice. I agreed. dumping cash on a fixed lens camera that costs almost RM4k is almost "wrong" but i dont mind to have a good camera that offers lots of manual control, good IQ, fixed lens (no urge to splash extra cash for lens), and small enough to be carry around in a back pack without much burden.

hence the dilemma, but i think probably i could wait around another 16 days or so for some early review of x100s when reviewers get their hands on it.

then decide. Does all the latest firmwares really almost iron out 90% of the quirks ppl had with x100?

decided to wait around for x100s's review and the official price. if it's RM1k from x100 and justifiable, I could bite the bullet n go for it. ^^

agh i really hope they'd somehow release the x100s in few day's time in japan when i'll be there soon..... waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh i want this so badd!!!!

i will be in japan this may with my x100 .. will be visiting yodobashi akihabara too ... must not bring CC along....
