hye guys , ive been searching for one serious camera since a month ago.to be honoust , I really avoid to buy a DSLR since I think , I want a compact and quality camera.yet , I still dont make any decision. I love all about x100. starting from the design ,hybrid viewfinder , the apperture and shutter speed control (since I am film camera shooter before this ) and the powerful sensor itself.

I read a lot of reviews , good and bad things about this camera and I already ask personally one of the owner , and he just tell me,

"dont but this camera , it will dissapoint you . The focusing is just worst and youll miss a lot of dream moment when doing street photography because of it bad focusing".

According to what I read , the major problem lies on it slow focusing , and I just want to ask , HOW SLOW the focusing is? HOW BAD it is. he already updated to the latest firmware , and still facing that problem. is the lack on focusing will distrupt all the joy I want from this beautiful camera. or maybe there's always a solution to settle this down.

Im in dilema. Is it a good decision to buy this camera? or end up , buy another mirrorless m 4/3 series like EPL3 or SONY NEX series.

I appreciate all thought that you guys give.I walk in to Lowyat a few times to test it out and survey the camera, but It's not a fair judgement right to test it just for 5-10 minutes.haha. I bet all of you really happy X100 user right? so clearly this "slow focusing thingy" is just a minor problem for all of you? actually I have fujifilm X10. just bought it 2 weeks ago (my dad own it actually.hihi ).I dont have any problem outdoor , I really admire the silent leaf shutter which is sooo good.but sometimes , Im having difficulty to deal with it indoor.(already shift to macro or suepr macro mode)

Is X10 focusing speed comparable to X100?Is it actually at about the same? as I already tested the X10.

hey guys. finally , after a lot of poisoning session from x100 lowyat members , I dare to have one ! looking forward to learn and improve .


the price , camera + leather case + 16GB sandisk = RM2520 . I decide to buy the lens hood and filter separately.

not all camera shop can give such a low price. I walk in to several shop at Lowyat plaza , found out that 5/7 camera shop still maintain high price. rm2800+ . one shop still selling at rm3200 although I already ask for the best last price. haha.

thanks bro zaidee. I also bought the lens hood for rm68 from Camzila. the cheapest I guess for lens hood accesory.

I bought it at Tharita Camera Shop. level UG at Lowyat Plaza at RM2440 . I got camera , leather case and also Panasonic Memory card. I add up a few bucks to upgrade to 16GB 30Mb/s Sandisk for rm2520.

for lens filter , lens hood , third party battery and other accesories , I search on web. I bought cheap third party Lens hood from Camzila shop.

Secondhand 1 year old x100 around 2.3k? Add rm200 and you can have the new one.it really depend on your budget .
