Park puzzled by poor form
QUOTE Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung admits his performances so far this season have left him far from happy. After his World Cup exertions with South Korea, Park has struggled to find any kind of form since his return to Old Trafford. His first-half display in Valencia last night was particularly poor as the 29-year-old repeatedly gave away possession when Sir Alex Ferguson had implored his team to retain it. At one point, the demanding United manager delivered a stinging volley at Park to try to trigger some improvement. The move did actually succeed and Park completed the full 90 minutes of the excellent 1-0 win at the Mestalla stadium. But he is still not happy with his own contribution. "I am not satisfied with my performances this season," he said. "I don't know why my performances have not been good. Maybe I was not ready for the season. "But mentally I have been weak and I have to improve. "In the first-half last night my performance was bad but at least the second was better." Compared to many of his team-mates, Park is still lacking minutes. Balance Wednesday night represented the first occasion he had completed an entire game this season, although at least in coming through his third outing in a week, he is starting to get some continuity. "It is always difficult to get the balance," Park said. "I missed a couple of games and then played again, although since I joined Manchester United it has been like that so I should know how to deal with it." United will be hoping last night's success kick-starts their season. Their second victory in 19 visits to Spain to face Spanish opposition, Javier Hernandez's late strike put them on top of Group C - above Rangers on alphabetical order - and in line for a place in the last 16 given they now face back-to-back encounters with Bursaspor, the Turkish champions who are yet to collect a point so far. United have also proved they can compete without Wayne Rooney, who is set for a three-week stint on the sidelines with an ankle injury he had checked out in Manchester yesterday. Although most of Rooney's absence is covered by the forthcoming international break, he will sit out Saturday's trip to Sunderland and possibly the home encounter with West Brom a fortnight later and the first of those two encounters with Bursaspor on October 20. Yet Park does not feel United should be concerned. "Throughout Manchester United's history we always come up with answers to problems," he said. "Big stars come and go but still the team keep producing the same performances. "We just concentrate on that to make sure we show our quality on the pitch." http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnew...ed_by_poor_form |

Yea what will happen if the "Big Games players" themselves are not ready for the big game? Hope Hargreaves and Obertan get to involve as well after they are fully fit, though mostly will see them in the Carling/FA matches |

close win...phew....was on the edge of my sofa last nite whenever a cross comes into our penalty box in the 2nd half. Somehow managed to grab a win even when valencia dominates the game (actually to be honest dominates possesion, can't remember VDS having much to do) Guess our luck is improving. Good for ando to be back. thought he was our best player in the 1st half. Hope can follow this with a good result against sunderland this weekend.

Wallpaper against Valencia
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(alien2003 @ Sep 30 2010, 12:06 AM) QUOTE(beck_ken @ Sep 30 2010, 12:03 AM) but don't forget how a injured Carrick suddenly played at Community Shield and rick rolled Fabio Capello England considering Rooney for Montenegro clash QUOTE Fabio Capello could be ready to select Wayne Rooney for England's game with Montenegro, despite Manchester United's claims that the striker will be out of action for three weeks. Rooney needs time to recuperate from a nagging ankle injury but with suggestions that he also needs to get his head right after allegations over his private life, Sir Alex Ferguson claimed this week that ''it will be two to three weeks''. However, there is speculation that Rooney could be set to for a shock return against Sunderland at the weekend having been left at home for the 1-0 win over Valencia in the Champions League. ESPNsoccernet understands that Capello is now seriously considering picking Rooney when he announces his squad for the Euro 2012 qualifier on Monday and the England medical staff are in "day-to-day" contact with the United doctors to assess the condition of his ankle. "At one time it was three weeks, now it might be two days!" an insider revealed. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...uro2012&cc=4716 This post has been edited by alien2003: Sep 30 2010, 11:20 PM |

waaa unless big fab ada some kind of shamanic powers and magic powers to use on rooney, the 3 loins musti usdah gla...
i think carrick is getting the stick for the wrong reasons this season.last night he wasn't up to 100%, thats agreed wch is normal for some whom got a start right after being cleared fit from an injury lay off. should we be happy with our squads performance so far??i say yes.cl going ok, league still an open race, some players are recovering their form so its all in good steed so far. p.s: the valencia fan(white kit) in boxxy's sig looks uncannily similar to chicharito~ This post has been edited by mhyug: Oct 1 2010, 12:21 AM |

Well, we stunned Fabio by playing Carrick in Community Shield when he supposed to be out for 3 weeks! So dejavu again maybe? Plus we all know Rooney tend to recover from injury faster than anyone else in our team Or SAF was just playing mind game with Bruce about Rooney's injury in the first place? So dejavu again maybe? well who knows aside from the gaffer .but with him being a bit off form, a rest would do him good imo.since the internationals is next week it would play in nicely in terms of him missing less of our games.the enguland fans cry foul over his form but suddenly when he is deemed unavailable they still panic.he in the squad pun they marah, he doesnt make it pun they x puas hati.what else they want from rooney....Plus we all know Rooney tend to recover from injury faster than anyone else in our team Or SAF was just playing mind game with Bruce about Rooney's injury in the first place? I say put on Berba-Owen against Sunderland. Rooney is having a dip in form and playing him doesn't seem fair at the moment. The other strikers like owen, macheda and hernandez need some game time... Rooney will have plenty of them with the long season ahead, im sure of that. So, rest him now, play the rest... doesn't mind to see Owen on a scoring spree

If he is not playing his confidence and morale will drop even further i think. Kesian weh.. |
