QUOTE(IIIaZer @ Oct 19 2010, 10:35 PM)
i'm gutted as well but just wait and see what is the final outcome. SAF said Gill still prepared to offer the best contract. So i'll wait and see if SAF can help him.
Looks like he is trying to runaway from the family problem.  That's my 2cents.

He's still a MU player at the moment. So hope he do the best for the club till he really leave.
*
i was expecting this actually. From the way Rooney made his comment on his injury i already knew he made up his mind to search for a new club. the pressure of media really got the better of him. I'm pretty sure rooney now trying to run away from England in order to escape the media attention.

QUOTE(dlct87 @ Oct 19 2010, 10:41 PM)
dunno what had changed him...first he screwed with his own life, then he screwed with the club and the manager who had stood firmly to protect him when the whole world is against him....a sad day indeed for the gaffer, the club, and the fans....

its sad to see him leave, but club>player, so good luck out there, and thanks for all the contributions all these years...

if he chose to run away to avoid the media, then i'd say he'd made a huge mistake....United (especially SAF) never fails to defend its stars from the media....from Beckham to Ronaldo

it must be very heart shattering for the gaffer to make that announcement....like a father who do everything to protect his child, only to discover that he didn't appreciate it at all...sad.gif
*
one word....immaturity. we all thought he grew up from being a hot temper brat into the most mature footballer ever but when the pressure took its toll, he's back to his old self only this time instead of proving himself on the pitch, he opted for an exit from Manchester United. SAF still have time to persuade Rooney to stay and sign a new contract or tried his hardest to get the optimum offer from other clubs for rooney next summer.

Critics on his performance during previous World Cup + pressure on his personal life by the media + his breaking relationship with wife surely the major contribution to his decision.

Wayne ruled out

QUOTE
Wayne Rooney will miss United’s match against Bursaspor on Wednesday night after being stretchered off in training with an ankle injury on Tuesday morning.

The full extent of the injury is not yet known but Rooney will join Ryan Giggs (hamstring), Jonny Evans (hip) and Michael owen (hamstring) on the sidelines for the Turkish team’s visit. At a press conference held at Old Trafford on Tuesday afternoon, Sir Alex told journalists: “Jonny got a hip injury in training over the last week. He’s out.

“Michael [Owen] started training this week. He won’t be involved on Wednesday – I think it’s only fair to him that he should have 10 days’ training before he goes back into competitive games.”

The boss confirmed those absences would mean opportunities for some of the younger players at the club.

“There’ll be some changes tomorrow,” he said. “That’s not to say we’re taking Bursaspor lightly, though. We hope the changes we make are ones that are easy to carry, in terms of positions where we feel we can cope.”

QUOTE(SaintX6 @ Oct 19 2010, 10:53 PM)
All these while I thought Ferguson is driving players away from the club and hes responsible for making rooney want to leave the club, But after reading his candid interview, I actually feel so sorry for him. This is the first time I pity Fergie. Clearly, he treats Rooney like his own son, really took good care of him and gave him the support he needed, until he got back stabbed by Rooney.
If Rooney really leaves Man Utd, its going to be a big blow to the Club, the Fans and the players. Its going to very hard to find someone like him. He is at the moment really irreplaceable. No wonder, Ferguson is so disappointed and speechless at the moment. Normally he will be the one who decides who stays and who goes, but now his Star player, one of the best player in the world and one of the best Man Utd players ever, wants to leave the club. Thats why Ferguson is in shock cause he has never been in this position before.

You know, this could be the very season our form is quite shite. Unsettled dressing room thanks to Wayne. When a star spoke about his desires to leave the club, it will affect the surroundings.

Imagine, what would those youngsters think? United will be just a stepping-stone club to those luxurious clubs such as RM, Chelsea and City.

I hope, we could settle this issue a.s.a.p. Then just focus on our matches. So long SAF is still around, I won't have any doubts on the team.

Precise words used there! players are more into bucks compared to fame and glory. how many examples have we seen now and this hurts the most, even when tevez left it wasn't this gloomy.

please climb back man utd! please show what you can do without him. like what you've been doing all this while..please

well, here's the full statement from SAF himself.

In a way, I think it's the agent playing around, just like Pini Zahavi, or even Vidic's agent. anything's possible?

I know i'm not supposed to be here...but if i'm not mistaken by next summer rooney can buy his last year of contract with just 5mil...if SAF want him out...it will be this january..so that his price is still at acceptable value...

United will move on. We had plenty of stars departing before which made us sweating such as Ronaldo, Beckham, Stam, Keane, Cantona, Cole, Yorke but still we stood and move on. no player is bigger than the club. Sure Rooney is talented and a match winner and he is on form but when the time comes, we must move on.

apparently yea. But if Rooney still have the littlest amount of care for the club, he would wait for a deal to be struck. Unless he did a Joe Cole or Sol Campbell stunt (Free Agent = more money on wages coz no need to pay transfer fee).

like SAF said, there is no breakdown, or falling out, i think wat rooney need now is to be away from england, i doubt he will stay in EPL.
