don't know how to decide....since the 100M income maybe the success marketing strategy by the Glazers, but then again, the debt they threw into the club is still the main issue to tackle...

seem like 60mil loss as it said overall.. the 100mil profit only come when count operating profit loss for the current yr

Jet-setting Reds

QUOTE
United players will be clocking up the air miles between now and next midweek as they represent their countries in the latest round of international matches.

After a perfect start to their Euro 2012 campaign, England square up to Montenegro on Tuesday with both Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney expected to start at Wembley.

John O’Shea and Darron Gibson will hope to preserve the Republic of Ireland’s 100 per cent winning record at home to Russia on Friday, before facing Slovakia away on Tuesday.

Northern Ireland are also involved in a qualification double header, with United siblings Jonny and Corry Evans looking to pick up six points from games against Italy and the Faroe Islands.

Darren Fletcher will take his Scotland team to Prague on Friday night in search of a vital win against the Czech Republic. The Scots will then host current European and World champions Spain at Hampden Park in midweek.

Elsewhere, Nani will be in action for troubled Portugal with two must-win games against Denmark and Iceland, while Nemanja Vidic will feature for Serbia as they face Estonia and Group C leaders Italy.

Friendlies outside of Europe will give Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez a chance to build on his impressive international record for Mexico as they face Venezuela, while South Korea captain Ji-sung Park will lead his team out against Japan in Seoul.

Several of United’s talented youngsters are also on international duty, as the Under-21 European Championship qualification play-offs get under way.

England boss Stuart Pearce has called up Reds trio Chris Smalling, Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck to face Romania at Carrow Road on Tuesday, while Federico Macheda hopes to play for Italy in their clash with Belarus.

Meanwhile, at Under-19 level, United Reserves winger Robbie Brady is joined by Academy defender Sean McGinty in the Republic of Ireland squad, young midfielder Etzaz Hussain is on duty with Norway and full-back Marnick Vermijl is away with Belgium.

one big disadvantage of those non-Europe players....the travel times on plane for their international duties are just insane sweat.gif

and hopefully our young lads (Macheda, Welback, Cleverley, Smalling) and those under 19s will have impressive performance smile.gif

Thank god they changed the qualifier date from a Saturday-Wednesday combo to a Friday-Tuesday so we can get the players back 1 day earlier.

United make £83.64m loss

Manchester United have confirmed their full-year operating profit stands at a record £100.8 million - but their overall losses are £83.64 million.

Many United fans have been keen to oust the Glazer family

• United set for net loss

United became the first English club to generate over £100 million in operating profits in the results, believed to be down to the Glazer family's global marketing initiatives, but the owners have created a heavy debt burden.

Interest payments accounted for £40 million, while there was also a hefty one-off cost for the successful £504 million bond issue earlier this year.

The statement on the club's official website also pointed to the signings of Javier Hernandez, Chris Smalling and Bebe, as well as new contracts for several first-team players, and wages rose by 7% to £131.7 million.

The club's overall turnover has grown 2.9%, from £278.4 million to £286.4 million, while media revenues rose by £5.1 million to £104.8 million.

However, match-day revenue dropped 7.9% from £108.8 million to £100.2 million during the financial year, with United playing fewer games after suffering a quarter-final exit to Bayern Munich in the Champions League and a third-round FA Cup exit to Leeds United.

Perhaps the most significant factor in the results is that there is no mention of funds being taken out of the club by the owners to pay their £200 million-worth of PIK notes, which are now attracting interest at 16.25%.

The record operating profits, though, indicate that the club is still a hugely attractive proposition in terms of its global brand, and suggest there is little truth to the notion that companies are reluctant to be involved with the Glazers after repeated negative headlines.

hopefully the "brand" of the club (100M profit if no debt per season) will be able to attract buyers and shoo the Glazers away...

not when the Glazers are reportedly asking for 1.5 billion sad.gif
unless they force their hands like the board did to Hicks and Gillett, which is impossible given we are entirely in a different situation compared with Liverpool

I think MU will go bust in a very short time if this continues. There is nothing that we can do now but pray. I think last time BSB takeover was canceled due to massive debt that the new owner wanna take up thus being rejected. I wonder why Glazer offer was accepted.

wat ever we make/loose etc the one clear fact is that we are saddled with the huge debt the yanks got us burdened with when they bought us.i think every red will prey that we can get back to our days of being the pioneer club wch have been run debt free.kinda miss those days.

Shit. The names of Peter Schmeichel and Edwin Van Der Sar are really synonym for that i think nobody could replace them. Their name can never be forgotten IMO. We're in a bit of shit situation here as i don''t think the likes of Kuzy can replace him.

Maybe i rate tall and huge goalkeepers that high to be trusted. Are we in a deep shit or can i say it's doomsday i tell ya, doomsday!
