Pixel-peeping question: Is it me or is the 550d here really sharper than the rest? Is it because of the higher resolution @18MP?

evilhomura89, from what i see, the sharpness is quite about the same, the difference is the contrast.. higher contrast does give an impression of being sharper.
but i do see a tiny bit of softness in the A55 though.

so canon does has higher contrast compared to the rest there including D3s

Maybe the 550d is is Vivid mode.. The rest is the Default one..
The color is really can be adjusted.. (:

Side-mounted video lights will be fun! Though I think you can get them from Digicolor.

achew: I like this blue effort more.

Mikeshashimi: #1 could be framed so the last bottle aligns with the edge of the frame, and maybe more bottles and more blurring. As in, by the time it hits the side, it's totally blurring out into white which matches the background of the forum.

#2 seems a bit shaky - did you accidentally turn off SteadyShot?

evilhomura89: Yeah man, DPReview and Dyxum have a variety of worriers more from the old days.

The 550D shot is also slightly underexposed (or rather, the other shots are overexposed.) This helps with the apparent contrast.

cjlai: Your blue sky seems a bit too greenish, and the greens seem a bit too bluish... try using this to isolate the red/green/blue channels:
