signither, what is the focal length of the pinhole, approximately? I would guess somewhere in the 20-30mm range as that would be how far the cap protrudes from the body.
That said, it is a rather artsy pinhole picture. Well done! |

That said, it is a rather artsy pinhole picture. Well done! well, the original idea behind my DIY is for artsy shot actually, because i dunno what's the focal length is QUOTE(Deerc @ Oct 14 2010, 01:12 AM) a hole made by a pin i drilled a hole on the cap, then put that carbon fiber sticker on top of it. later, take a pin and make a hole on the middle of the sticker |

sig, the focal length of a pinhole camera is calculated from the sensor plane to the centre of the pinhole. which is essentially where the light from the focus plane is being 'converged' on/in the lens. *imagine a light path drawn on paper passing through a lens, the crossing point of the lines is where is used for the calculation*

QUOTE(signither @ Oct 14 2010, 01:23 AM) a hole made by a pin I see. Now i know what is the purpose of the carbon fiber sticker used on your body cap. I tot for style purpose only. i drilled a hole on the cap, then put that carbon fiber sticker on top of it. later, take a pin and make a hole on the middle of the sticker |

A33 finally reach my town last monday, the day i got high fever and bedridden for 2 days.... first thing i do when i got well, go to sony center and find out whats the fuss the EVF about....
my verdict of A33 (sadly need another 1-2 month before A55 arrives, but i guess its the SAME thing (more or less)) i. oh boy its SMALL and LIGHT... light is good, small is bad, especially trying to reach the dail with my index finger, was blocked by my middle finger... sony should REALLY consider a Vgrip for it. ii. the EVF is great, seriously, nearly cant notice the pixel! yay.... i love "FACE DETECTION" in EVF, it made it sooo much cooler! really like FPS game HUD... iii. the EVF does not look like FF, nor its anything like a pentaprism feel, nor it anything near A700 OVF. those keep saying look like FF, go try A700 or a A850 (sorry if someone might mention it, because its over 10 pages i skipped when i was sick) its still too small to look into it. (lucky it has errr what u call that when u press the 'delete bin' button?, it is damn useful!) iv. the AF speed is not what i expected, its fast, but it has reluctant to lock with SAM lens, and much better (not much) with screw driven lens compare to A550,(the test was focusing my waving my hand slowly under brightly lit room) v. the iso1600 is freaking CLEAN. not to mention the multi shot iso made iso6400 like iso1600 on A550.... @.@ vi. video mode.... errr i didnt try it.... coz was never my intention buy no buy? wait A580 or A7xx (pray hard >.<).... ok... Added on October 14, 2010, 12:41 pmohya... i really approve of EVF, it doesnt felt like EVF... its like some high tech OVF if A77 (the ONLY replacement for A700), i can live with it... if they put dual bionz to make it work smoother... i dislike the soft delay in everything i do... and i guess A77 will have the same swivel lcd? cool!
