Sturgeons and Polyodon Spatulas spotted at Irene Aquarium Shop. But they're tiny, only 2 inches. RM 45.
I was tempted to get them, but they were too small.

There was a channa there too. But it's really tiny, around 2 inches as well.
It had stripes and had a blue/green tone. Not sure if that's what you're looking for. |

Everyone, my brother has decided to release the peacock bass into a nearby pond.
He told me to ask people if they want to adopt it because he's afraid someone might catch it (and eat it). The fish had white fungus on its fins about a month ago. Salt got rid of the fungus and after a few water changes, it's now healthy and still very aggressive. However it's right eye seems cloudy. The other eye is fine. Will upload pics later. If anyone wants the fish, please reply as soon as possible. My brother is clearing the tank on Friday. You can take the fish today, or tomorrow. |

QUOTE(mollymurder @ Apr 25 2012, 02:35 PM) PB is quite a good hunter in the wild and they breed like rabbit..plz dont simply release fishes in the river u will ruin the ecosystem It was wild caught. The pond we plan to release it in already has many peacock bass. So, if no takers, it will return to the pond it came from. |

Question:
Does anyone know how much a custom made 8 ft x 3ft x 3ft aquarium would cost? |

QUOTE(arrow @ May 8 2012, 02:14 PM) Ho, ho, ho, that would be my ideal home. Unfortunately, my parents think that having a huge, huge tank is a crazy idea. Mom: Who's going to pay the water bill? The electric bill? Me: I will pay for it. Mom: Why do you want to waste your money? You can keep it in the bank. Me: But these fishes are hard to find. Mom: Then how did you find them? My brother: Because she goes to the aquarium shop every day. Dad: What if the tank suddenly break? Broken glass is sharp. Me: Then what about the existing aquariums? They could break at any moment. Dad: They are small. If they break it wouldn't be that dangerous. Mom: Why don't you do gardening? At least you can eat the vegetables. Me:................................ Parents are strange things. My mom is okay with the idea of a small pond, but not a giant tank. Need to keep trying to convince them. |

QUOTE(aimank_88 @ May 8 2012, 08:21 PM) Just say "If my family wont support the things that im interested in, who will?" Hahahha, I told my mom, since she is easier to bodek, that my fish needs "to live out to its full potential" and she gave me a weird look. Always worked out for me last time. Hahahaha My dad said that all aquariums will be placed at the back of the house, which defeats the purpose of having aquariums. People need to see the tanks the moment they step into your house. Even if the host is busy and has no time to talk to the guests, the fish can entertain them. I'm going to try that. My brother is into aquariums too (He says he's going to keep his 4 footer in his room), so where are gonna team up and bodek my parents. |

QUOTE(BenSow @ May 8 2012, 10:30 PM) No, I want a laminated glass tank. I've even saved up to pay for all the expenses (workmanship, glass cost..etc) I am ready to pay for it. I only need the green light to go ahead and have it done. But my parents keep saying its a waste of money, or for the same amount of money I could keep a fibreglass tank of tilapia, at least it can be eaten. They are very old fashion in the sense of keeping things that "can eventually be eaten". Sometimes I feel like saying "This is not Chinese restaurant okay. Aquarium is not meant for storing fish then eating them." |

Hi,
Can anyone recommand a very silent sump pump for an 8 feet aquarium? Also, are there any LFS in PJ or Puchong that has cheap or reasonably priced substrate (sand)? Thank you. |

QUOTE(Jules @ May 23 2012, 03:35 PM) Hi, perhaps you could try Rio 32HF. Been reading good things about this brand. Can contact a seller in Lelong, he may not advertise this size, but you can try asking. Apart from that, seen Batu Karang Laut in Subang selling this brand. I inquired for the smaller ones. Okay. Will do some research about it first.Thank you. Added on May 23, 2012, 7:08 pm QUOTE(aimank_88 @ May 23 2012, 02:58 PM) Dunno much but if the sump pump is silent, still theres water noise from the aquarium.. Im using a sump pump for my 4 feet, no vibration noise from it coz the water coming in is much louder. Try equine park, u can take the shortcut through Sirim/Bandar Kinrara to equine. Theres around 5 LFS there, went to a few of them seems the price is okay. It's the vibration or motor sound from the pump I am more concern about. Most submersible pump heads have that motor sound, except canister filters. But for an 8 feet tank, canister filters would be too troublesome. So, I've to go hunting for a quiet pump head. For the sand, my brother suggested collecting river sand from Chamang river. Thoughts? This post has been edited by beer8bottles: May 23 2012, 07:08 PM |
