Spotted at Irene Aquarium:

Paddlefish, about 15cm+ going for RM 198.

Dragon goby, RM 110. Looks like a deep sea creature.

Sturgeon: RM 45

Tempted to get the paddlefish but its plankton diet is a bit of a put off.

This? Looks cool! Go get it. smile.gif

Yeah, it looks really cool. Was tempted to buy on the spot, but I've no empty tanks at the moment.
I read that dragon gobies need cold temperatures and they are near blind. Going to be a hassle feeding. rclxub.gif
Still need to think if I wanna get them.

Any paddlefish owners here? How do you house them? (Also, how do you plan to house them once they grow really large?)

Hi, I need to ask all giant tank owners (8ft and above), how do you guys clean your tank? Say that you have sandy substrate at the bottom of the tank and some driftwood in it. Aside of performing regular water changes, do you ever need to drain the entire tank?

Also what tools do you use to clean the inner glass from algae?

Update of my tank:

Filling up.

I noticed this crack recently. =_= Like a small stone hit it while the gardener was cutting grass. Only the outer part is chipped. The tank is fine, not leaking in anyway. Is there any sealants for me to to strengthen it?

The driftwood from Aimank being weathered.

Yup. It's a dragon goby. Where is that LFS? The price is cheaper than the PJ LFS.

Also, I saw Mormyrus longirostris (dolphinfish) going for RM 18 for 2 inches long in Puchong, and RM 12 in Rawang.

Anyone living in Shah Alam here? Can help me check if the huge LFS there is selling this fish? Because the last time, I saw it selling there for only RM 9. I want to get a shoal of them.

Puchong. Kedai Aquarium Double Two sells it. It's 4 - 5 inches, RM 48. The owner is very helpful. The shop is near the fire station.

Hahahahha!

Anyhow, still wondering if I wanna get those dolphinfish. I saw a clip on youtube that they'll play with a ball and swim through hoops like a real dolphin. But I don't have any empty aquariums to keep it in cry.gif

Hey anybody knows what fish is this? Looks like a mudskipper  tongue.gif
*
It's an oriential river goby!

http://www.ecologyasia.com/verts/fishes/or...-river-goby.htm

You guys are so lucky to get them for free. I had to scoop them from a lake in Puchong. They are pretty peaceful.
They'd eat fish pellets, bloodworms and baby guppies (which should not be made a habit if you plan on keeping them in a community tank).

those guys are sold in one of the Blue sign LFS along the sungai buloh nurseries, if you are planning to get some, still bout 200+ tails about the size of a winky or less
*
How much?
Those that I caught are very sensitive to water change. Only 1 survived out of the 7 I caught. Which is strange, because the lake's water is a lot dirtier than then aquarium water. =_=

Added on August 17, 2012, 4:48 pmOh yeah, my friend is selling platinum channa, 6 inches in length.
PM me if you are interested. I'm not sure how many he has left.

Sorry, channa platinum. That was what he told me. It's white in colour. Apparently it is a new species or something.

What mini canister filter is that for your shrimp tank? Been looking for one like that but cannot find. How much does it roughly cost?

Fishing trip on Tuesday.
Location: Puchong

Catch and Relocate:

My brother caught a peacock bass. I caught all the other little fish. They are Mayan Chiclids.

Relocated them to another pond in Puchong. My brother and I have been relocating the fishes for a few months now but the pond we've been dumping them in is always so "quiet" when we go back there to fish. I think people are catching them and bringing home. =_=

just curious, where you catch those fishes?
i caught my first several mayan ciclids near the medium lake in puchong beside lingakaran putra prima, beside the big water tank and indian kuil. never get a bass before.
my father wants one and insist it should be dump

At the inside my oscar tank shakehead.gif

At the Puchong Prima lake beside a few apartments (Dunno what's the name). I think houses are going to be built around the lake. The developers have closed off the entry so cars can't drive in. You have to park your car by the roadside and walk in. It's a bit muddy because they leveled the soil, so it's best to bring old newspapers for your car.

Hmmm, I'll see if I can catch a few the next time. We caught about 8 - 10 peacock bass a few weeks ago. Relocated them to Bayan Hill (It's in Puchong too). They are usually about 20 - 30 cm. Dunno if it will be nice to your Oscar. hmm.gif Do you want the Mayan Cichlids too? They're very small, about 8 - 10 cm.

I tried feeding a Mayan Cichlid to my lungfish (because cichlid = tilapia, right?). It didn't want to eat it. The darn Mayan cichlid has thorns! =_=

If it is confirmed that fish can be caught, I will go. Or else I will start scooping for tiny fish and kacau the other people. Caught 3 sebarau and 4 Patung fish in Batang Berjuntai last Sunday. My elder brother caught a baby Arowana (but the pond location for this one cannot reveal tongue.gif ). Dunno what Aro it is.

lol, you sound  icon_rolleyes.gif s happy. i hope those beowulf or beerbottles wont laugh at my newb sparkling small non-brand fishing rod  sweat.gif

btw, got a problem with my Ebikko. Shes trashing alot since yesterday, excatly 10minutes before 10pm and stop after the lights off.
looks like shes begging for food? any ideas? can one of you guys ask your oscar experts frens for this type of behaviour? recorded this one at 0953pm tonight
or is it because the replaying oppa gangnam style song ive been hearing today and yesterday?  tongue.gif  maybe that song irks her alot

*
No, we won't laugh. smile.gif

For the Puchong Prima lake, we need to go in the morning, like 7.30 am if you wanna catch Toman Harimau. There'd be peacock bass too. My brother catches them using spoons (?) or something. They're artifical lures. For catching the Mayan cichlids, I used crickets. Still trying to catch those Tilapia, but they're not taking the bait. Maybe they got smart. If we go in the afternoon, it will be very windy and the water around the edge will be very muddy. Also, we would get sunburn.
