Hmm perhaps due to water quality? My channa bleheri's i bought initially was not that colourful, but after a day or two in my tank their colour seem to be very visible and vibrant. smile.gif

Hehe yeah. But altho with airconditioning, the lowest temp i could get was 24C, most of the time between 25-26C. Without A/C is around 28-29C. Dunno how accurate since im only using the cheap RM5 thermometer that u stick on the wall with the rubber suction. I still think best is with fan, but lazy to topup water everytime la.. tongue.gif

lol

btw, can anyone give me the local name, english name and latin name of the feeder fish usually sold at LFS. Not the guppies and the baby koi/goldfish, but the white/silver fish, which is long and slim, looks like miniature ikan parang.
thanx

Once I bought these fish, oscar loved it.
Coz those fish were fast swimmers, and oscar loved challeges.
Now my kampong LFS didn't sell any.
everyone is selling koi, shrimps..

once i saw my tiny polli caught one by the tail, but it didn't know how to put the whole piece into tummy, so it slammed the fish head against the wall.
I guess it worked.
My polys especially the PEE is getting bigger, maybe he did his hunting coz before i bought him, i had rams and corys.
After i put him inside, they vanished in a week's time.

I think polys hunt by applying these strategies.
stalk and snap or surround and conquer.
I saw them spreading out to 4 corners, and trapped the fish.
Of all, they hunt better in dark or off lights.
My poly tank is below another 4ft, so without tank light, it's gloomy.
Feeders fish need light to see and hide, without light, they're DOOMED!!
